Sase as well is looking pretty good at the moment and I believe also didn't try for it? Not sure. Naniwa tried, but he failed to qualify. Naniwa has a habit of failing in these sorts of 1-3 day deals, unfortunately. Might be more of a recent slump, but NaNiwa did fairly well at weekend tournaments during 2011 and early 2012 (consistent top MLG placings), but I think he got too much into the GSL mindset and finds it difficult to win without preparation beforehand. He also doesn't know how to win vs zerg anymore. ye but seriously, SortOf and seiplo? Thorzain i can understand but sweden has a lot of better players than SortOf and Seiplo T_T
I don't know about that.
SortOf has bean doing pretty well recently.

His PvX openings are almost always different to whatever the current established meta-game of the day is. Sometimes he looks among the very best players in the world, sometimes it just doesn't quite come together and he goes on a losing streak because of it. Regardless, despite losing in Code S he didn't actually look bad, he had the right answers, just didn't execute right.
I'd never realised that before, but now that you say it I can think of quite a few examples.

Mainly because i live in sweden and are so used to seing them all day and all night, if you know what i mean . You do actually get tired of that to, trust me.
Spanish women are more exotic and warm. They tend to be more down to earth as well.

Well SortOf is a good player and he almost made it! Seiplo though..it never felt like he had a chance to get top 8. He's even in school and has stated that he can't practice more than a couple of hours during weekdays so it just feels like that spot was kinda wasted...even if nani may not be in tip-top shape I'm sure he would've made further into the tournament.

Screw that, I urge all my fellow homos to get to Stockholm now.
Can I brag about Lithuanian women ?

I cam home late and couldn't watch games up till now, what where the most epic games there? I love long turtle fests or games where people are playing like scrubs with small amounts of units mid-late game. Could some 1 recommend some games? Maybe there will be some replay pack or vods available. Don't want to miss fun moments.

I can't agree with the arbitrary system based on player activity to determine players per region. Just looking at these brackets, It is truly a shame so many amazing competitors are eliminated.
Thorzain, Ret, MaNa, White-Ra, SlivKo, DemusliM. This list easily comprises some of the best European players. Tough tournament.... !
Other hand....RTS runs in the blood of LuCifron and his family(Vortix). LuCifron appeared seemingly out of nowhere in the competitive WC3 scene and started taking games handily off the worlds best.

No Ukrainian either, partly because the qualification to EU finals was heavily influenced by population numbers. That is actually bullshit, Germany is well behind in the SC2 scene and should have been happy to get even equal amount of slots to Sweden or Ukraine. And to be fair it seems EU will have pretty good representation regardless.
On the other hand is the fact that NA gets even amount of slots to EU even worse. Naniwa got 4th in Sweden and was knocked out, period. While Huk got 10th in Canada and 9th in NA and still managed to go to Shanghai. Lucky for Huk that Blizzard is based in NA when the skill fails. Well, the most consistent and highly skilled Swedes have all looked rather weak this summer and autumn. Thorzain has not been in the best form, Naniwa has been in a real sluimp, SaSe too. Just a weird anti-timing for Sweden. We still have a strong scene, but no one who can perform consistently at a high international level at the moment. SortOf is probably the best Sweden has to offer right now, but he's not quite at that highest level yet. We just have to face that having a solid scene doesn't mean that we will always be represented everywhere and we can't just expect great performances
Well logic doesn't make it less painful :' ( Well I am happy that both Nerchio and Stephano (most probably) are going to be in Shanghai to represent EU. Together with Scarlett I think they are among the few that have a realistic chance to snatch the world championship from the Koreans ^.^

Yeah NA getting so many more spots kinda sucks, top EU players are so much better than top NA players outside of Scarlett. I don't agree Dodgin. I think its very important that the NA scene is well represented. On what grounds? EU has a population of 740 million, NA has a population of 528 million. Skill wise I'd argue they're not on par. But then I kind of agree as a lot of the viewers and money comes from NA so. Erm how did NA get a population of 528 million. That's about... 50 million off?
ah fuck i forgot there are more than just the three main countries.

Ret vs Grubby (especially game 3) was crazy and epic.
