Please have some respect for the players, teams, and tournament. Criticism is fine, criticism without anything to back it up isn't so cool. Thanks! |

Not so worth it for Europeans though, as MLG is in pretty bad times some days
Thats true. Im spoiled for this event by being on the east coast. For once.

A poster said in the previous thread that Western players need to step it up.
I'm starting to think that's never going to happen. It's been 1.5 years, and the best the foreigner scene has produced is Stephano and while he's gotten to the level of Polt, he's not going to be able to get further since he's quitting this year because he can't see himself making enough money.
Going forward, OGN getting into SC 2 is going to bring on a fiercer level of competition in Korea. After the next OSL in March, BW pros are going to see the writing on the wall and they're going to have to switch. When that happens, Korean SC 2 is going to become even better.
In the foreigner's scene? Well, you can see the writing on the wall here, too. Teams are replacing their rosters with Koreans. Koreans are winning every tournament except those that a few special Westerners manage to win. Foreigners training in Korea aren't experiencing the success that people thought they would.
The going is tough and getting tougher, and I don't see any hope of the foreigner's scene coming to its own. I would agree with you for NA players. The EU players are not that far behind though. They're pretty much the same as guys like Sheth, Idra, Incontrol and Demuslim (NA based). USA might lack depth but their top players are basically the same as top EU players sans Stephano.
I would argue that IdrA and Sheth if they bring their a-game are the best players from NA, at least two of them. DemusliM is EU player, doesn't matter if he lives in the US. I think EU has far more players that are capable of winning against Koreans.
Kas, Nerchio, ThorZaIN, MaNa, HasuObs, MorroW, Socke, Stephano, ret ... are all capable of taking bo3 series but it really depends on their match up and if they can bring their a - game. Koreans are far ahead if it comes down to consistency, but in overall skill and ability I think there are quiet a few players that can give the Koreans a good run for their money.

Would really appreciate if you explained it (or gave a link) As far as i know: The groups are build up on ranking(Which comes from MLG points), so #1-24 in ranking will be in a set group. But since the people who come from the open bracket dont have the same ranking dependant on who wins, Say sheth and thorzain wins their brackets, since sheth(He is #1 in open bracket) is higher in mlg points. He will have a better ranking than thorzain(he is #2 in open bracket). But if polt(Who is #32) and thorzain wins, thorzain would now have sheths old ranking of determening pool play since polt is lower in MLG points than thorzain(Polt would be determent by the other 6 winners MLG points)

I don't know why I wrote Incontrol, I meant to write Huk.
Between Huk, Idra and Sheth they have three highest level foreign players.
I don't think anyone doubts that EU has more depth but there's no difference between the best EU players and the best NA.

Thanks, looked it up and it seems:
Out of the 8 winners,
Top and bottom open bracket seed will go to Group A Second top and second to bottom open bracket seeds will go to Group B Third to top and third to bottom open bracket seeds will go to Group C Middle seeds will go Group D

TSL coach is definitely making good players. Now if he wasn't such a paranoid fellown maybe he could keep them. It's not a coincidence TSl logo is a picture of 2 eyes watching you.

Championship Sunday is insane. 11 Bo3 if you come out of the Loser Bracket. Damn that shit.

TSL coach is definitely making good players. Coach lee was a very good coach, he helped make players like light and sea in BW but as a manager he appears to not be as good at that.
