At the highest levels, thats what we saw with Leenoc vs ForGG...
It's not even a macro game. It's a crappy stalemate because of not well thought abilities like fungal. This is the kind of crap you wouldnt see in a hundred years on BW And secondly I think that my opinion is shared with most of the community when I say that these long epic games are really entertaining. Not even close.
When you compare that to Leenock JJakji or MMA DRG, I can't even begin to think of that as entertaining. The only people finding this entertaining are Thorzain fans and Stephano fans.

Yeah, lol. Thorzain was down to like 40 supply when his army died vs 120 of stephano. No way a remax would ever work

It's not even a macro game. It's a crappy stalemate because of not well thought abilities like fungal. This is the kind of crap you wouldnt see in a hundred years on BW Firstly, I agree that some abilities like fungal are not the best from a game design standpoint, but I don't think that's the reason for these drawn out games in the first place. And secondly I think that my opinion is shared with most of the community when I say that these long epic games are really entertaining.
Great games are games where two players play perfectly and are always on the map attacking and looking for an advantage.
For example Jjakji vs Leenock on Taldarim, that is the perfect game.
This game was full of mistakes and both players sat still doing nothing.

Personaly I thought this was a great game 20min of intence action followed by somethign we dont see that much.

it's funny, yesterday proved that tips money > prize money at this tournament. so it's in both players' interests to play long, back-and-forth games with unusual/silly plays.

Out of curiosity, do you guys think it would've been better if Thorzain tried an MVP-style sniping of the corruptors first?

How can you say that's a horrible game...... 12 ultra drop? Stephano losing his lair, and then barely surviving again and again, AND the amazing fact he saved his fourth? a 50 minute game? Sky terran? Just because a game goes into a standstill doesn't mean its horrible... if anything that's really cool. all the cool stuff happened in the first 15~20 minutes after that we get 30 minutes of nothing. A single nuke and a couple of runby's here and there. I don't blame either player for it, the map just encourages this. Yeah, to me it was a really good game the first 20 minutes. But Metalopolis wasted the game. I don't get why people are comparing this with bw, when in another map that would have been an epic game.

I wouldn't expect the blindest Stephano fanboy on TL to understand why any Stephano game was a bad game.

The game definitely had it's moments, but most of the game was just the stalemate, and that's super boring. Honestly, super long games should almost never be that entertaining. Because, to do that, you need to have stuff happening all the time, and very few players are capable of making that happen. The only entertainment I ever really get from super long games like that is seeing the wacky unit compositions that people come up with.

Standard 1 hour game. Hopefully the caster don´t die in the end.

The fact of the matter is if Terran wants to camp in SC2, they will. There is next to nothing you can do to force engagements against a dedicated camper like Thorzain, especially on maps that allow splitting like that. Ultra drop? Yeah killed some tech then they all died to 20 cloaked ghosts. What would have been REAL strategy would be stephano dropping a few infestors with the ultras, and sending 1-2 overseers, to lure the ghosts, then fungaling and killing them all.
But SC2 simply has not reached that level.

It's not even a macro game. It's a crappy stalemate because of not well thought abilities like fungal. This is the kind of crap you wouldnt see in a hundred years on BW no, the true reason it won't happen in BW because BW don't use fucking horrible maps like metal. Fine but describe to me any compistion on BW that would have allowed any two players to dance around the midlle like that. In BW tanks would actually hold a position if you mindlessly run your units in. Science vessels would have cut out that bullshit clumping. Zerg could have thrown cover with their defilers. on and on.
Here's a clue, BW isn't sc2. you're suppose to abuse the slow mobility of broodwar or siege tanks by attacking through other sides, but its a one way street.
Anyway, if there does exist map in broodwar where TvZ is an one way direction, you would have heavy siege tanks at one side and heavy defilers / scourge / lurkers on the other. It would've been extremely retarded
