It doesn´t have to be rush vs super passive game.....
I think the pros just haven't had enough experience in that gamestate in SC2 to know what to do. Stephano finally forced the issue with the ling run-by.

Let's hope for a more action-packed game two. :p
+ Show Spoiler +The added k after every "-ng"-sound. Can't unhear.

Sky terran? Just because a game goes into a standstill doesn't mean its horrible... if anything that's really cool. Of course it's cool... just, the time between the awesome moments are soooo long :/

Man, Metal used to be a good map but now its kinda terrible. It just encourages too many Stalemates like this.

all the cool stuff happened in the first 15~20 minutes after that we get 30 minutes of nothing. A single nuke and a couple of runby's here and there. I don't blame either player for it, the map just encourages this.

Amazing game. Why didn't "sky terran" go around the spore walls to the the far left or right? Or both...
With Nukes dropping in the middle.
damn, last time I saw such a long game with so many units it was... not that good, tbh, and in a very low league. But Stephano and Thorzain take the Late LATE game into stylish pro match.

At the highest levels, thats what we saw with Leenoc vs ForGG...
It's not even a macro game. It's a crappy stalemate because of not well thought abilities like fungal. This is the kind of crap you wouldnt see in a hundred years on BW no, the true reason it won't happen in BW because BW don't use fucking horrible maps like metal. No, it's not about metal. It's about Thorzain. He could have won that game at any point after taking out Stephano's Lair. But he didn't, he decided to camp and split map and not micro and lose. That's just bad gameplay supplemented by bad unit design.
That was so, so boring.

How did that happen?! I'm scratching my head here. Crazy game!
11/11 incoming from Thorzain :D

Hmm, felt like Thorzain should have won that.
lol
Shakuras inc. Repeat of game 1 inc !

Firstly, I agree that some abilities like fungal are not the best from a game design standpoint, but I don't think that's the reason for these drawn out games in the first place. And secondly I think that my opinion is shared with most of the community when I say that these long epic games are really entertaining.

Well yeah I agree. But this game was a turtlefest nonetheless.

Oh God, Shakuras is even worse than Metal.
More split map garbage inc.

Am I the only one who doesn't constantly have 50 minute sky zerg vs sky terran games on ladder?

The ling run-by didn't do shit TBH. The way to win was just to kill the enemies army = GG. Remaxing was never an option there.

1. see a game that lasted 58min 2. See people argue about x player could of won because he should of done this and that 3. See people argue against eachother
Seriously people :3 just let it go

it doesn't matter what thorzain decided to do, it was still a terrible map that often draws out stalement like that.
Because it is a complete one way street. You have siege tanks and vikings at one end, and infestors and broodlord at the other. Its one of the worst map there is late game cause it almost always lead to stalement.
