Keep enjoying the games. In advance, if you OP whine, see you in a while. If you post well, hopefully see a lot more of you :D <3 |
I love how people actually get emotionally attached to players like idra and stuff. It's really, really awesome. But at the same time, does an LR thread need to be filled with people whining?

Today's match should deflate the hype a bit, but I'm sure it won't. Well said. Puma is a guy who has never ever qualified for even code A, and probably will never play in the GSL ever. At the end of the year, more people will remember Jinro than him. Hell, even Clide will probably be a more familiar name than Puma when we look back on SC2 in the future.
The only reason anyone knows clide is because of the Artosis hype machine, which this comment thread alludes to for Puma. Your point is silly and I disagree and I think the fact that Puma's winning games and placing where he goes is evidence to that. I don't think he's even tried out for Code A in the last 2 quals.

As a North American Zerg player/sympathizer, I'll be rooting for IdrA. But as a member of Acer, Elfi's got some good Zerg training partners. He's got Nerchio, who has beaten IdrA in the past.

I wouldn't say "even ground" for the typical Korean pro at any point in his career post 2003. Prettymuch the only person on even ground with him for consistently winning tournaments was moon. LOL Bei. My favorite part about Bei was when he quit being a pro gamer, and instead focused on FFA games. His old FFA replays were ridiculous, like 5 noobs trying to simultaneously kill him and he would still win. Haha I don't even know if you can call Bei a pro-gamer. He was arguably the best wc3 player during a long stretch of time, but that was back when there were like 0 tournaments outside of Korea. He was the definition of a ladder hero "Make da goos, chop da wood" if you ever saw the famous interview in like 2002 or so.
But the true wc3 legend no-one ever remembers is Showtime.Werra. He was kind of a one trick pony with his beastmaster hunts, but he defined the game for a good year after TFTs release.

So would you say that prior to this GSL DRG was not code S caliber? It's extremely difficult to qualify for the GSL. Puma has won 2/3 tournaments he has attended, and he placed 5th/6th at the other one. He's not just taking games off of code S players, he is beating them consistently. Qualifying for code S should not be a measure of skill, Puma's win percentages are much higher than that of other code S players.

Grubby was better than all of those except Moon, and personally I think Sky is the 3rd best player of all-time. Which makes it one Korean (Moon) in the top 3.
Well Lyn was actually more consistant than Grubby for the later few years, Grubby snagged a few titles and won WCG 2008 but Lyn won like 75% of tour's he was in and racked up over 100k in prizemoney which at the time was obsurd, also the most dominant player in the world when on song was FLY, he was such a beast it's not even funny. Never lost orc mirror and made dotts look weak when the rest of the orc community was getting crushed, up 1-0 in Wcg finals vs Infi and held a commanding lead g2 then infi somehow held and kept harassing with invisible summons then FLY fell apart that game and game 3 got crushed ez by playing really sloppy on TM
