About 90% of his losses are due to overdroning. If he doesn't lose to overdroning, he almost always wins due to beastly macro. What does that tell you? if you are as greedy as possible its alot easier to have 'beastly macro'. It's true the more drones the more you are to macro, but your selling him short by calling him greedy and in result being easy to macro.
ret has nearly flawless mechanics, nobody says that his crisp inject timings and such is "easy". that said, he plays an extremely greedy economic style that leads to a lot of dominant wins when he isn't punished but also leads to him dying to some relatively simple timing attacks. seeing a player have 80 drones at the 8 minute mark is shocking to viewers, but it isnt just perfect macro that gets you there, a lot of it is risk taking in forgoing units and/or tech.

Went to sleep straight after the games so a bit late on posting but have to say the matches were pretty good apart from the ending and was nice to see Jinro and Haypro pulling wins. It's a pity though that Slayers didn't have to field any of their Top6 players this time around, Alicia just isn't up there atm.

Ret isn't known to be a coinflip kind of player, if he's doing something he knows exactly why and how to handle the consequences.
Occasionally his opponent will have better control and win a tight engagement, but that's normal and it's exactly what should separate the two players on a pro level. It's not at all - we can see what both sides are doing - Ret can't, hence we may be able to deduce what is overdroning better than Ret in a given situation.
That's not the point though. People are implying that he should drone "less greedy" while in a game, so in that context it's his (player) perspective that is relevant, not the observer one.
He makes decisions based on what he scouts and based on his general game sense and knowledge of specific timings. Everyone can have bad luck scouting and make a bad read once in a while.
What is being suggested here, however, is that his decision making is flawed and/or that he has a coinflip playstyle (macro all-in or whatever the term was). Or in other words, they're either saying that they know Zerg better than Ret OR that he relies on sheer luck in the early game to win.
Either way, it's not a very good (or accurate) thing to say.

I only got to watch the first few games before I had to go, but at least Slayers using their B-team made the series competitive. HerO is good, but I don't think he has a great shot against against Taeja, Ryung, Puzzle, MMA, Coca or Ganzi. Any of those players could have realistically team killed last night.

Not cool.

When one sports team goes against another that is weaker, they see it as an opportunity for their bench players to get some practice/experience to round out the roster. In GSTL, it's good to have a well rounded team instead of having a few to carry it all and Slayers is most definitely a well rounded team, their "B-Team" should not be counted out at all.
