He always does something like this in deciding games, it's probably the nerves.
It's like the finals vs MKP... Hero destroys him in the macro games to the point where its not even close, then goes for one base warp prism / ramp forcefield in the last game and loses. -_-

That said, I thought Liquid really had a chance to take this, and they certainly made it closer than I expected. SHETH! WHAT HAPPENED!?! Bold statement to make when they're not even in the playoffs of the only legitimate team league in the world. All-kill formats are about having the strongest players, not the most well-rounded/deep team. You do realize they won Team league twice already? Also the only reason why they aren't in play offs is because they lost some pretty close series ( you can't win them all ) and they got cheesed out by hong un when they played Prime.

Roaches aren't more supply heavy than zerglings, slightly less so even given that minerals are generally considered less valuable than gas. It's 75/25 for 2 supply of roaches, while 100/0 for 2 supply of zerglings. Roaches are far more larva efficient, though.
The real difference was the tech investment from Ret.

Plus Puzzle and Coca weren't allowed to play for Slayers this season.

Damn, it's too bad we didn't get to see a BoxeR vs TLO match, that would have been epic.

How is it an excuse when they're not using the mentioned players for the specific reason that the match isn't one-sided?

he takes a risk, when it pays off he wins?!?! madness
people talk about overdroning as if its any different to an all in, its just a macro all in. your hoping to avoid losing rather than forcing a win. i love rets play but i wish people were harder on people like him for taking huge macro leads when they cant be sure its viable. not commenting on this game specifically but 'macro zergs' in general

I have seen Ret max at 10min and something with strait double expand. Given that was on roaches aswell.
Maxing on army's can be very different it all depends on the units you make.

You do know it's quite pretentious to assume you know what's "overdroning" and droning just enough better than Ret, right?
Ret isn't known to be a coinflip kind of player, if he's doing something he knows exactly why and how to handle the consequences.
Occasionally his opponent will have better control and win a tight engagement, but that's normal and it's exactly what should separate the two players on a pro level.

What does that tell you? if you are as greedy as possible its alot easier to have 'beastly macro'.

Well thats exactly what people are saying. Compared to other top Zergs ret does play a bit of a coinflip style where he will often try to be as greedy as possible.
On the other side of the spectrum is Slush who will build 15 drones all game.

It's true the more drones the more you are to macro, but your selling him short by calling him greedy and in result being easy to macro.

Yea. I think its a combination of nerves and a stylistic thing. He loves to do risky, micro-intensive builds and tht comes back to haunt him in almost every series he loses. It's a shame cos he's so talented.

It's not at all - we can see what both sides are doing - Ret can't, hence we may be able to deduce what is overdroning better than Ret in a given situation.

Ouch, Liquid doesn't even get to have a taste of MMA, Ganzi, Taeja, or Ryung. Expected though, those dudes are some of the best Terrans in the world.
