What happened tonight is a group of very good players lost to great players. And some of these players will turn out in two months to be incredible players that have good showings in Code S. No one who played tonight is bad. And while I know some idiot is gonna respond with "lol k make excuses," but did anybody feel like any of those guys played to their potential. No, we wouldn't have 8-0ed the Koreans, but if we saw the best of them we probably would've seen one or two advance and the rest go down 2-1

They got in but didn't really do well. Sen got 2-0d by Nestea before he could go anywhere. He probably would have made a deeper run if he had a better bracket

Those map draws where however completely unlucky against all Zergs. The GSL map pool is pretty skewed overall at this point. Not blaming it for the results but the stats are what they are. There is no excuse for crossfire to still be in a competitive map pool.

Past record doesn't mean ANYTHING when 5 months in sc2 is a fucking long ass time. Also your logic is completely stupid. You're saying because idra beat huk a long time ago that means idra can hang with the top players in GSL right now when it's obvious that huk is the better player currently. It'd be like me saying jinro 3-1'd idra in gsl season 4, but idra beat huk at MLG, so jinro should be code S caliber right now.

Sure bro. and Sase? He's a good EU player but at this point that's it.

Yeah man, everyone knows the first seasons were the hardest, that's why Artosis qualified for S1 too. Wait a second...

Your argument is meaningless because you can't compare time periods. It's like bitching about easy or hard brackets, you play who you play and deal with it. Yea, but he's making IdrA sound like some fucking Bonjwa for just participating in the GSL. Jinro had straight up better and consistent results( beating Idra head 2 head in GSL) and owning some of the best players at that time, e.g MC. What did IdrA do? Oh yea he participated in the first GSL. Good one.

Shouldnt the IdrA hype be over soon? the only thing he's done well in since god knows when is the IPL, and we all know that the quality of players in there is not anywhere near most other big tournaments.

(not saying Idra can't go back to GSL and do well, I think he could - anyone could - if he puts his mind hard into it and spends the time) You know, he could even be the best Nestea-sniper in the world, but still lose horribly in a full Korean league. It's not about beating dat one guy.Yeah, not like he's got a winning record against the only foreigner left in code S or anything. You could make the same argument against huk.

As well, training isn't a 1 week or one month session. To become great at anything, you have to put in years of practice. SC2 is young, but these Koreans already have 1 full year of exp in Korea. Sase and others need to catch-up by spending months in Korea. Do it the samurai/ninja way.

There's nothing necessarily wrong with laddering to practice every once in a while, but just like with any other sport, you need other people who you know pushing you along. You need coaches and you need someone to make you practice for hours on end until you get it right. The Koreans have that; foreigners don't... yet. HuK does most of his 'practice' on the Korean ladder if I recall correctly. He's still playing against top GSL players there though, and he practices a shit ton as well. If foreigners had a ladder as skilled as the Korean one it'd make a big difference.

There is only the IdrA rule. If Nestea loses 1 game against MMA, there are 15 pages about how he is a scrub and completely overrated. Didn't read anything about imbalance/maps/luck, oh wait, when he won vs Happy I read 10 pages about lucky banelings.

That's what MLG is for Koreans and they have also experienced some jetlagg at MLG ![]()
