Sage has been showing amazing stuff recently in GSTL but doesn't seem to have any individual league achievements yet... a player to look out for, 4sure.
btw is "Code B" an official classification used by gsl? or just something the community calls players on a proteam that haven't qualified for A/S?

Plenty of incredible players in Code B, dude. Sage, BoxeR, MMA, DRG, etc.
MMA is code B?!? wow, I really need to keep up.
Who the hell is sage?
As of now, looks to be the second best Protoss in Korea. Even MC was impressed by his play during the GSTL
Second best protoss in korea? Are you serious?
He's sick man. Could might as well be THE best korean protoss imo, although he's pvp seems a little bit shaky.
i love how people crown best korean protoss based on a team league all kill. but shit, what does 2 gsl titles mean? apparently not as much as an all kill

Considering that MCs PvZ is his weakest matchup, I agree. But come on, it's Kratos himself.
wait since when did PvZ become his weakest matchup?
since his PvP and PvT are just godly, it's the only one left.
Actually, statistically, PvT is his weakest matchup. And judging by what he's saying, he seems incredibly confident in PvZ right now so I suppose PvT would indeed be a logical conclusion for his weakest MU.
imagine what a great insult it would be to all the league players, who spent weeks and weeks playing matches to qualify for the finals, if the open bracket winner takes the entire tournament

Yea, not Puma's fault at all, he's playing awesome, but the league championship should have been closed to league members only. Otherwise there's not much incentive to be in the league.
First off, Ret would have had to beat him, or a very good player at some point. With how Ret played there were probably only 4-5 players he was going to beat out of the 16 so if it wasn't out in the first round it would have been the 2nd.
Also, in the league you are competing for 15 possible spots. Not in the league you are trying to fight through a massive talented open bracket that is single elimination for 1 spot. I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to figure out that you'd want to be in the league, not to mention the notoriety of having weekly matches broadcast which makes sponsors happy and helps grow your name and brand.
Bah, shouldn't have even responded to comments. Either you aren't thinking through anything, or I'm getting trolled. Either way wasn't worth the time.
it sets a bad precedent though
if puma wins then other pros will be like oh well i'm not going to waste my time playing in the league i'll just play in the open and if i can beat everyone in that, then i'll be unstoppable in the tournament
you have to understand there's a finite number of hours in the day, and NASL is a huge time-sink for no potential reward, time that could better be spent streaming or playing in smaller cups
It was far, far easier to get into the NASL just by being popular and having a quirky application video then to compete against 1024 other players in Single elimination, a few rounds of which I'm sure was Bo1.
And i'm sure any pro would prefer margin for error (i.e a league format where 1-2 losses and you can easily still qualify) over such a brutal and unforgiving open tournament, even if it takes a few more hours of your life.
Oh, and you get a week to prepare in the league whilst most of the open tournament was too fast paced for preparation.
You forgot to mention that the Korean players had to get up at 4 a.m. every morning to play in the NASL, yet puma plays one open tourney and gets a trip to the finals.
Considering most of those players knew they could win almost every match and they live a lifestyle which i'd imagine allows for a fairly flexible sleeping pattern, getting up at 4.am wouldn't be as big of a deal as people make it out to be.
Sucks, yeah, but i'd imagine not a single Korea player was self-righteous to complain about that considering they are humble folk.

pretty much this .... :-/ he's pretty awesome tho, but that's got nothing to do with it. poor ret. 10 hours flight for 15 minutes of sc2 games.
Well, if Ret had won, then that wouldn't have happened... it all depends on if you win or not to make traveling to and participating in a tournament worthwhile, no? Imagine if PuMa had lost instead of Ret. Then PuMa would also have had 10+ hours of flight for 15 minutes.
true, ret played a whole season of nasl tho and finished first in the overall statistics, if i am not mistaken. but my post wasn't mainly about ret. more like the format of nasl, which is (at least now in season 1) very flawed. just like the single elimination bo3 grand finals and the like.
No just think about it, if Ret is so good that he finished first in overall statistics during the league, what does that make Puma who eliminated him and is now in the grand final match?
Almost everything can happen in a bo3 single elimination, which is not always really meaningful. that's why the double elimination has become so popular these days.
Tournaments that run for 2 or 3 days aren't meant to be very meaningful, they are for entertainment. If you want to know who the best player is, you'd need a list of the top performers for the entire year. You can't ever find out who the best player is in a 2-3 day tournament.

Code B = Grandmaster, literally. It has no further meaning. It simply means you are eligible to participate in GSL quals.
