10 out of 50 players Korean = move to Korea? wat?
How do you feel about European players. They aren't North American.

If the Koreans are the better players theres zero reason for them not to have a majority of the spots. If the foreigners want their spots back they should get better. Simple as that.
Apparently you just want to watch lower tier players play because you can relate more to them. You arn't a true fan of SC.

this is the same bogus as in the early days of the nhl... canadian players whining that swedes and russians where coming over stealing their money and stuff.
performance is nr 1. sure, it adds a little extra spice to see someone from your own country, but when you are actually watching the games that stuff doesnt matter, then you just want to see aweseome performance from the best players in the world
i would even say that the drama is pretty much self regulation, at this point everyone is super excited when a player like huk manages to beat some top koreans, if koreans werent special there would be no excitement at all över a win like that. the foreign community is the underdog and thats not only bad. i think this can turn into a great story "how the foreigners learned how to play starcraft and compete with the koreans", it might take a year or two, but to isolate the scenes from each other is not the way to go

I love that Koreans are crushing the foreign competition. Makes me ecstatic.
If players were kicked out of the pool play, players like CatZ and so on, do they have to qualify next season or are they invited again? With the competition I'm seeing in the Open Bracket, if they have to qualify like this, they'll never make it back to NASL again.

awesome stuff, il try to be there!

I know, I'm sad mkp didn't sign up for this one cause I want to see him in the NASL, but he signed up for the next one which will be much tougher to get top 8. yeah but he's MKP, he'll still roflstomp every koreans until ro8 imo ^^

16 of the 50 players from season 1 are out of the tournament and must requalify. The list of who is, unsurprisingly, not to be found on the NASL site. I can't find it on Liquipedia either. The only source I've found is here. Notable eliminated players include Tyler, Drewbie, Rainbow, Haypro, Catz, and QXC. Of those, the only players I could imagine having a chance to requalify (if Korea continues their invasion) are Rainbow (cause he is Korean, duh :D) and QXC, if he stays in Korea and practices like a madman.

Although Catz is not top-notch for a pro-gamer, but you gotta admit CatZ abuses Infestor "Psi storm worker harass" ... as in burrow ---> sneak behind minerals ---> double fungal = 30 dead probes
Many pro-level zergs need to abuse this part of the zerg race and in fact learn from Catz.

actually, I don't care that all Koreans won the open tournament. What concerns me is that the people we've been watching play for 2 months aren't even going to play in the finals. Basically the league has been a useless waste of time for the players and somewhat of a distraction to keep us viewers busy until the actual tournament begins.
I realize the bandwagon i'm jumping on is full of korean hater, but that's not my problem. My problem is that none of the people who participated in the league has an actual shot at winning any of the prize money which will go to a bunch of random dudes who didn't participate in the event. I mean no disrespect to the Koreans, and especially none to the organizers, who kept me entertained for a good 2 months following the league, but It seems to me that this open tournament makes the entire event into a farce.

^ I think you need to understand the format of the offline finals better, and that you also need to understand that only one player from this open tournament is going to them...

...what?
One person from the Open Tournament makes it to the Finals. One.
What's easier, coming top 2 in your group of 10/whatever else to qualify regularly or coming in first in a potential best of 1024?
Yeah.

Well, if you say so. I was under the impression that the top 4 made it through? That does weaken my criticism somewhat. I still think the open tournament is a bit weird in the whole thing, but I guess I can live with weird. thx dude

I could say coming top 2 out of your group of 10 is also easy to obtain if you're a better player. Honestly, there was some pretty steep competition in this. Maybe not as tough as the players in the groups but we really shouldn't take away from the fact that the person who will win this open will have earned it.
I know it seems unfair that some people who have worked hard for two months will not participate further but honestly, all I can say is that they should have done better. : \

This really should be included in the OP. Frustrating to have to dig through the LR thread to find basic information such as player names. ^^
