The only seed that is obviously more preferred is #3 vs DarkForcE... all the other seeds are against equal or better players. Everyone there is good ~_~
At least when you're playing against someone who was in the league you have a pretty large amount of games to look at their play. Yeah, I guess you get the replays for this open tournament but it seems like it would be much easier to prepare to play for someone who was in the season over someone who got in through the open, even if their skill is the same.

Even if Koreans didn't sweep it statement would apply. Outside pro level chances are you aren't going to win with eu and na pros playing.

Seriously.
I mean it can be very fun to see just how far you get and then lose to someone really good (and hell, it's only 10 bucks) but at the end of the day the EU and NA pros are still going to eliminate any non pros who show up regardless of the Koreans stomping everyone.

Good point.
Still, I have a soft spot for Ret. I think of him as the Eeyore of SC2, for some reason.
So regarding players who lose their spots in NASL, and the new ones coming through Open Tournament+Qualifiers... Bottom 16 lose their spots, if I'm not mistaken, but a few who have placed higher have openly said they don't want to play in the next season for various reasons.. Naniwa and Morrow come to mind... Does this mean some from the bottom 16 may get lucky and keep their spots, or more new players will be given spots?
I wonder if all the other Korean teams are looking at TSL's domination of this Open tournament and thinking, "SHIT! We should have signed up for this earlier!"
Game 2 of the Revival match and Game 3 of the Lowely match is probably a good example of the difference of the training difference being helpful. Revival, with all of the hours played, probably has seen this or a similar circumstance scores of times just from the sheer number of games played. Having been there before, he had the experience that maybe pushed him over the edge.
In fact, I think Thorzain's ghost approach at the end was even better than the approach adopted by Clide, but Revival had the experience to deal with and and prevent the comeback.

I know, I'm sad mkp didn't sign up for this one cause I want to see him in the NASL, but he signed up for the next one which will be much tougher to get top 8.
I am declaring this here in a TL post. If Revival, on my account, makes it to the finals, wins, and comes to Ontario for the offline final, I am buying the man dinner if we can communicate well enough to get that point across.

You should make him pay for dinner, since he is the one using your account, its the least he could considering winning the open has a prize of $1000 (500 from prize pool+500 traveling no?)

The travel will cost more than that...
guess you are right, summer season+short notice=high flight fare. I bought tickets to japan for spring 4month in advance, cost me only bit more than 600.
Still disappointed this or the next one isn't a North American exclusive open tournament. This would be a swell opportunity for those unknown players to make a name for themselves. Instead we get another tournament dominated by Koreans. I hope the GeForce Pro-Am doesn't turn out in the same manner.
I'm being serious. If the NASL ends up having 10+ Koreans in season two, they should just go ahead and move the finals to Soul and rename the league International Star League.

That would screw the mid level koreans and europeans just so terrible players could get in

Let's be honest no one wants to watch joe ladder play in the NASL. This isn't that type of league. You fill the league with NA ladder players and no one will watch.

Exactly, what's the point of professional competition if the best of the best can't play?
