Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

You can always just say no to the invitation if you don't think you're good enough. However, if you do you should fucking man up and not listen to the bullshit. Posting something like this though is seriously as bad as the people hating on you, though. Initially they were hating on the selection process (not you, just the fact that there might be some other people better to pick) but now you're basically giving people ammunition.
For the record, I hope you do well and I am supportive of up and coming players, people are hating on NASL and not you. Best of luck and I'm sorry if I come across harsh.

Well since you're invited you get the chance to prove you belong as a top 50 player in the world. With such a competitive scene at the moment in SC2 it's only natural if one's name gets questioned if you don't have any bigger tournament wins in your resume.

I'm confident that the ramaining 5 players will be very strong players. However, I think Nasl is already a very interesting tournament considering the excellent players assortment in it ( above all from EU, US and Korea ).
There will be many many entertaining games for sure..

It's really sad to see a player in this tournament get discouraged because of a bunch of whiners in a thread like this who have no place in saying who should an who shouldn't be in this league. I, for one, fully support the NASL and all of the players it picks because I believe that it will only bring further exposure of this awesome game we call Starcraft 2 to NA.
I just hope the community doesn't ruin it before it even starts. As it seems now, the only topic of discussion is one that involves bashing the NASL, the rules, and the player invites. What a sad statement about this community that some of us feel entitled to criticize people who are trying to give us content we wouldn't have otherwise.

You shouldn't let your desire to play be ruined by a bunch of people on the internets posting their opinion based on so little information. People will always have things to criticise, especially in the gamerscene. I know that this maybe means nothing, but although I haven't seen any of your games, I am looking forward to see you play, like the rest of the players in the league.

Sadly events that try to involve the community will inevitably get the worst flaming.

People have their favorites, lesser known players have not much of a fanbase, favorites got left out... Who has taken/granted their spot? The ones whiteout a defense-squad (aka fanboys).
Just own some shit up and the fanboys will shut up :p.

Lol @ people complaining about dde, you guys realize hes won over $1200 in cups and tournaments? Learn to follow the competitive scene, just because you don't know who someone is doesn't mean they aren't as good as your favorite players.

Problem with NASL will be it lasts for months and months. It will probably take up to 3 whole seasons to fix the mess of this invite process. So we will probably need to look at these same bad players for months playing instead of watching top games. They should have created qualification tournament (or more of them like TSL3) and let people in through those while keeping invites for 5-10 people only. This qualification tournament should also have been in the form of MLG with loser bracket so there is a bigger chance of best players getting in instead of eliminating each other.
Well, no, this won't be that huge of a deal. How many of the people on this list do you consider "bad" players? Can you think of more than 8? Because at most you'll have to watch a month of group divisional play before the very bottom get dropped down. After that you'll be watching the top guys playing in the playoffs (or whatever you call it...). So yes, each season is going to take months. However, it's not going to be the bottom players playing for months. Plus, the metagame has changed a lot since the GSL started. I don't think any of these guys are going to be doing the bit-by-bit rush.
Of course, if you think that like 30 of the 50 players are "bad" then, well, maybe you should just go watch something else.
If anything, the thing I'm worried about is who the players are that will come up through a 1024 man BO1 tournament. If they're anything like Mana at Dreamhack then we have a LOT to look forward to, but with a format like that it's quite possible for some people to get to the top who don't necessarily belong there.

I totally agree..

I think part of the reason you have to be on a team to be in the NASL is because that makes you a professional. Part of being a professional is not being bothered by team liquid forum comments of all things.... : |

But in the end all of this is still publicity, and sooner or later everybody will realize that NASL has by far the best player pool outside Korea. Also NASL will have 16 new spots for every season that players can qualify for through online tournaments. This will make NASL much more open than all comparable tournaments. On top of that the format of NASL is more fair then that of its competitors and will lead to less randomness of results.

When are the next names revealed?

The disappointment of fans are not hard to understand, and I think the bans were a bit over the top. There's frustration all around, it seems
When a tournament proclaim to want the best players, perhaps it would have been helpful to be less strict on the sign-up date. Especially with a lot of players not fluent in English. Alas, the decision has been made and the tournament looks extremely promising none the less. No doubt, some of the 'unknown' players will surprise us, the way the non-koreans have done in the last week in competing with koreans.

Actually the group play is 9 weeks. After 1 season some of the bad players will still stay just based on luck/good day when they play their up/down matches.
Although I am not afraid of bitbybit stuff I am afraid of both players sitting in their base waiting for 200/200 and then having one big clash. This is what I seen often in tournaments that do not have top players fighting against each other (well top players sometimes do this but rarely).
And yes I could name a lot of players of questionable quality but I will not as then I would be just like 95% of posters here claiming this or that players should be out or in. I just want to have as best players as possible as soon as possible. A tournament on NA server would have accomplished this and more. It would show us if having many koreans is even worth it due to lag and show us if EU players can play at odd times due to different time zone.

I hope your mindset isn't "These guys think I suck, I probably do."
Should be "These guys think I suck. LOL."
You've got an oppurtunity here to show your skills on a big stage. Shut the haters up. Win the whole damn thing. I'll be cheering for you since you wear the maple leaf.
