Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |
I seriously don't understand why people think NASL will be terrible because there is a lack of koreans and then go into the next thread and get hyped fro MLG this weekend. An event with 0 koreans. Also...

who is DDE? I've never ever heard of this person and would like some info. dde ( dde)is a Canadian-Korean player who I think is one of better players in NA. He dominated the early VT Opens, winning the first two tours and placing second in the third. He also places highly in nearly every other NA Go4SC2. I definitely wouldn't consider him one of the most suspect people on the list in my opinion, though his results aren't quite as top-tier as some of the other invites. He doesn't have a signature large tournament win but is a solid competitor in most NA cups. just looked through his match history It's really hard to tell since I mean I wouldnt say he has a good string of wins over any S class gamers... a few decent wins etc but the rest are a little meh. He's korean though so I guess it should be okay but meh PvP he seems maybe B+ class rest are 50% against not quite NASL quality players.. Although it's such a large timespan it's impossible to judge where he is now. Just seems to be a complete unknown though despite decent TLPD rating, nothing stands out from his wins etc.
Just because he is korean doesn't mean it's good. It's not something that comes with the passport.

He's only an unknown to the average viewer who only watches big events. He's a highly skilled player that just hasn't had a chance to prove himself yet (i.e. he hasn't been invited to many tournaments), and definitely belongs here.

They are getting banned for not informing themselves on the basic information as to what makes a player eligible for getting into this tour. If you can't do this simple thing before you come here to voice your complaints then your opinion is of no value.

But I don't agree with guys complaining about Painuser's skill. I can't believe you guys thing HE shouldn't be in here when he's capable of 4:0-ing liquiders (or 4:1-ing, who cares, he was MASSIVE at MLG). And at the same time no-one said a thing about some ladder heroes and EG guys without a single win in a broadcasted match. Is this because of the race he picked, or because he is friends with HD which for some reason tl posters consider disgusting? Doesn't matter, he'll prove you all wrong - PAINUSER, White-Ra and BRAT-OK FIGHTIIIING
You realize that people are not getting banned because of skill level complaints right? It clearly says in the post-it at the top that people are getting banned for complaining about players not getting accepted when said player either didn't apply at all or couldn't follow the simple rules/deadlines for the application process. I don't think anyone has been banned for complaining about skill level. Just people getting banned for constantly complaining about Dimaga not getting in (he shouldn't because his application was not on time) and the usual idiot flaming that has no meaning. I think the mods are handling it pretty well given how much this thread has blown up. Honestly there's probably more people that I would have banned for some of their comments.

Do you realize that MLG was like 4 months ago? A lot of things have changed since then. Painuser has accomplished absolutely nothing since then (and he had his chances as well).

Aww I feel so bad for Dimaga. He truelly deserves the spot in NASL. Maybe, just maybe, we (fans) can someone persuade NASL to actually let dimaga in despite the mishap with his application ?
EDIT: I hope you don't misunderstand this as complaining...I just feel bad and would like to help him out if possible.

This made me LOL :D
I don't want to be rude to iNcontrol and I have a feeling he's more in the tourney because he's a fan favorite than because of his track record (he actually admitted himself on SotG that he hasn't won a major tourney yet) but I can think of a couple of players I would rather see play than him. I could say that about a few of the other invites as well but either way, there's enough players that I want to see in the league that I'll definitely be tuning in!

It's not like they only pick 5 a day. They were settled on before we even heard of the first batch.

If you were to start your criticisms about player quality there are better places to start from this list.

It seems to me that everyone is complaining about ~5 players who got in and ~5 players who didn't get in. That's a 90% success rate. It's basically impossible to make anybody happy with an invitational, so that seems pretty good to me. If those players deserve to be in/out, the qualification system will see it happen. Not to mention all the logistical issues that nobody ever takes into account.

really nice to see these comments. They alrdy busted my desire to play.

I was worried about the number Koreans, but I think we can remind ourselves that Xeris and his collleagues have never disappointed when it comes to organizing tournaments. I'm sure he is coordinating with each Korean considered to find out if they will/can actually 100% come if invited.

Hehe, I was thinking at that while writing my post. GL at proving the "haters" wrong! (me included). Edit: I read your post as "They already boosted my desire to play."

I feel NASL kind of fracked up with the whole invite process. GSL had weird members of Code S/A at the start but that more or less fixed itself up after a couple of Code A/Code S tournaments.
Problem with NASL will be it lasts for months and months. It will probably take up to 3 whole seasons to fix the mess of this invite process. So we will probably need to look at these same bad players for months playing instead of watching top games. They should have created qualification tournament (or more of them like TSL3) and let people in through those while keeping invites for 5-10 people only. This qualification tournament should also have been in the form of MLG with loser bracket so there is a bigger chance of best players getting in instead of eliminating each other.

Yeah, you tell 'em!
The trick is to let them think you're the underdog then bet on yourself, and rack up the dough.
Or you can get an emo haircut and complain about how misunderstood you are.
Your choice.
You can't exactly expect everyone to have your back when you are relatively unheard of compared to many of the other players on that list. The forum tends to favor those who have had lots of time in the limelight. Once the season starts you can prove your worth and win yourself a fan base that will defend you against naysayers in the forum.
Until then, it's probably best you say "Fuck 'em" and train to prove yourself.
Good luck!
