Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

Right now i am missing a DeMuslim, MorroW and NightEnD the most.
Morrow will likely be included tomorrow with the most obvious Korean choices July Nada boxer MC anything else invite wise would be a slap in the face , at least from my perspective if they invite the players i just mentioned i will be happy enough to buy a season ticket probably =)

Hmm not in yet:
Lyn Demuslim Morrow Dimaga (ok too late) Mondragon Supernova Nada MC Thorzain Destiny Boxer July [and more]
However several unknown or unsuccessful players (especially from Canada/USA/Korea) got invited... this feels a bit wrong and overvaluing teams, US ladder position as well as a single IEM tournament. At least to me..
If you want to amaze the fans, put the fan magnets in.

Of course i would love to see more top notch koreans invited, but i'd also like so see the likes of Bomber or Min in here.
Honestly I'm glad there aren't more Koreans since I wouldn't be able to read any LR thread because all the whining about the lag... In a perfect world we would have a lot of Korean invites but unless the latency gets better somehow, I'd just rather see the Koreans compete in the gsl and at LANs where they can attend personally.
I do agree with you that we should wait and see how season 1 ends up before we bitch too much. I'm sure that they have the potential to prove many doubters wrong if they play their cards right and hopefully the qualifying process for following seasons will eventually put an end to this debate about which players deserve to be there.

Boxer fan boys need to let it go, the guy simply isn't a good player anymore.

I agree... I'm fairly certain moman got in on just making a hilarious video. I had never heard of him before he made his application video. I'm sure he's decent but I'm sure they could have picked someone better.

Lol? You want MC so badly, but White Ra just beat him. You want MKP so badly, but Sen just beat him, as did Cruncher. You want Fruitdealer so badly, he hasn't won anything in like 4 tournaments. Nestea and July may be the only ones who have shown something special lately.

incontrol has done some strong top 10-16 showings in tournaments before and has almost cracked top 3 in one.

That's not fair. If you compare this player list with any tournament with around 50 players, this is certainly one of the most stacked ones even if there is many good players left out.

I think most that follow the European scene knows of him, as well many from his streaming during the beta. I do agree skill wise there are better zergs, but they have evidently put more things into consideration than pure skill, so I'll refrain from making too harsh comments about that until NASL makes a statement about their process for choosing the players (as Xeris have said they will).

I agree to the point that lag and everything can ruin such an tournament experience for players and spectators. Furthermore those cross server games, especially with people playing from korea, never gave me the feeling that both players played on even ground.
BUT
Proclaiming that they will "try" to get the BEST PLAYERS in this tournament the way they did, it is kind of a let-down to see them skipping some of unarguably best players in the world.
Though i can understand their though process, i feel the way things had been announced, and what this league should and should not be, could have been handled better.

who is DDE? I've never ever heard of this person and would like some info. dde ( dde)is a Canadian-Korean player who I think is one of better players in NA. He dominated the early VT Opens, winning the first two tours and placing second in the third. He also places highly in nearly every other NA Go4SC2. I definitely wouldn't consider him one of the most suspect people on the list in my opinion, though his results aren't quite as top-tier as some of the other invites. He doesn't have a signature large tournament win but is a solid competitor in most NA cups.
just looked through his match history
It's really hard to tell since I mean I wouldnt say he has a good string of wins over any S class gamers... a few decent wins etc but the rest are a little meh. He's korean though so I guess it should be okay but meh
PvP he seems maybe B+ class rest are 50% against not quite NASL quality players.. Although it's such a large timespan it's impossible to judge where he is now.
Just seems to be a complete unknown though despite decent TLPD rating, nothing stands out from his wins etc.

At least for Incontrol being invited one can put up a flaky argument (tournament 'appearances' / being close to achieving something there) , but a player like Grubby ? That's 2 mediocre protoss players from EG, while a high performing toss like ROOTMinigun doesnt get an invite (I think most people will agree he is a top NA player and very entertaining to watch)
If anything these invites are just going to make EG look bad because I doubt any of them will get through to ro16 (Idra being in the group of death)

No-one has ever been banned for complaining about overall participant's skill level in any gsl thread. Nor in an IEM thread. Nor in an MGL thread. Just some food for thought.
But I don't agree with guys complaining about Painuser's skill. I can't believe you guys thing HE shouldn't be in here when he's capable of 4:0-ing liquiders (or 4:1-ing, who cares, he was MASSIVE at MLG). And at the same time no-one said a thing about some ladder heroes and EG guys without a single win in a broadcasted match. Is this because of the race he picked, or because he is friends with HD which for some reason tl posters consider disgusting? Doesn't matter, he'll prove you all wrong - PAINUSER, White-Ra and BRAT-OK FIGHTIIIING
