Defiantly game 1 he dug his own grave as you said with not dealing with the overseers. Overseers contaminate is ranged, and they regen hp. They are not easy to kill unless you have a lot of hydras. Other than that, defending his ramp was top priority. If he kept too many hydra in the back, he would lose the front. He could always inject between corruptions. What lost him the game was losing like 5-10 drones to the first roach group. The second battle also had too many roaches Zenios 20 roach + 10 hydra > 10 roach + 20 hydra Hydra are just trash units if anything ever hits them ![]()

You have to get pretty damn close to the building to contaminate it.

idrA just got caught off guard by a couple of timing attacks vs Zenio. ZvZ is such a fragile matchup that one slip-up causes you the game. ZvZ seems to have a huge advantage to the aggressor from what I've seen and played.

The second game was pure garbage I don't like how fast he tapped out, yea I know that he couldn't have survived that attack but at least put up a fight.

As someone else mentioned they actually have to get real close to the hatchery. Yes him not guarding the ramp cost him but he was already behind, and that secured the game. As for the last push, Idra had no1 near as many units as Zenio

Idra's macro and reactionary style doesn't suit zvz that well

SangHo is a very strong player and fake Boxer will have a difficult time beating him (not saying it won't happen, because it can). I do remember though how so many people here were having a blast bashing fake Boxer as a terrible, terrible player who doesn't even deserve to compete in GSL based on a couple of games they've seen him play, and this was only a few days ago. I've even seen posts saying they were angry that such terrible player was in the tournament when players like Artosis and Tasteless are not. I wish people wouldn't be so quick to form such strong opinions on players that way.

Usually it starts with people like Artosis and Tasteless baging the players out in the cast because they play a bad 1 or 2 games(but not knowing on how good they actually are). Kyrix was another good example of this.

I'm thinking I better just get a ticket in the future, though, because GSL is really screwing up my schedule :D. 4 AM is an hour after bedtime, and that's when the GSL starts. there is a site to watch em, but i wont say cause i dont want to be banned or something. However I agree its more fun to watch live.

I'm in awe of Nada's play in game 2, the build and his ability to macro is just sublime. I've watched that game three times now and have been playing around with that build against the AI. I just love the Terran mech and it's so good to see a player making it work at the top level.

Sorry but TLO and Idra are not the best players in the world. They are great, but the level of bias in these threads warrants people bringing the rabid fanboys back down to earth when reality kicks in. I think you mean the level of overrating, of course everyone here is going to be biased for them, this is a foreign SC2 forum and they are the only two western foreign players in the GSL. Are you going to go over to some Chinese SC2 forum and go "MAN YOU GUYS ARE TOTALLY BIASED FOR LONER LOL"? I really doubt anyone will go ahead and claim they're the best players in the world (although I've heard Idra being toted as the best foreign player quite a bit, and no matter how much you might dislike him that's a pretty valid claim), but of course people are going to root for them even when objectively they're going up against better players. I wish people wouldn't be so quick to form such strong opinions on players that way. Did you see his first match? It was pretty bad, even for a Ro64 match. Whether he just didn't have a gameplan like he did for FD or he was trying to hide how good he really was so FD would underestimate him, he played like a completely different person that match than he did against FD. For the people who haven't seen him play on the ladder, of course they're going to judge him based on that match alone, what else do they have to judge him with? And of course people on TL are going to be biased for Artosis, a western foreign SC2 player and TL-goer. I really doubt he is going to take out SangHo though, he mostly defeated FD through developing a specific strategy aimed at FD's weaknesses, and SangHo is probably the most balanced and reactionary player we've seen thus far aside from maybe Tester.

Heh, was thinking the same thing. I'm looking at page 1 and its just all ZvZ and TvZ. Protoss is my most played race, and its disappointing to see what should be a powerhouse race get so man handled in the GSL. Maybe blizzard will help us out, maybe not.
