Idra's bracket was looking fairly easy actually. But Zenio improved a lot since last GSL. It's a shame because Idra would've gotten to final four easy if he got past Zenio and may have even won it all.

Yeah one of the main reasons i play Terran is because it is the only mirror match-up i can actually stand to play.

I just watched that first game a 2nd time with Idra and Zenio, and that Overseer strat seems so weak unless you don't do anything about it, which Idra didn't. He just let him come in and contaminate it all 20 mins of the game. Why not build some spore colonies? Their super cheap and would take out those overseers easily.
The whole game is countering the other persons strat. He got beat 1 base vs 2 base because he didnt kill 3 overseers?? If that happened to me the first thing I would do would be either build Hydra (which he did but then didn't leave them guarding the hatch), or build spore colonies.... or am I missing something? The counter to this just seems too easy for a pro gamer to miss. I can't believe he lost with an extra base the entire game.

what i want to know is why is ogs doing so good and tl not so good (and by that i mean bad)

Well, between Idra, TLO, and FD, my liquibet was completely destroyed. Next thing ya know Boxer ends up losing to Loner and Genius or Sangho ends up winning or something.

It is ok. The most overated player is Tester and Clide being a close second. IdrA got nothing to be ashamed of.

foreigner pro team vs korean pro team
HMMM...

OGS had like, what, 8 people in the Ro64 alone? And it's a pretty big team, it probably has members that didn't even make it into the Ro64
Meanwhile, TL has Nazgul, Jinro, TLO, and Haypro in Korea. And I'm not sure if Nazgul even competed in the Qualifiers. And only TLO made it into the Ro64. I don't think it's surprising that TL isn't doing as well as oGs.

TESTER LOST??? UGHHH!!!!!

I don't get why people make Idra out to be either one extreme or another. Some people call him the greatest player ever god's gift to SC2, others call him utter trash. Objectively speaking based on his results (not just at gsl but other tourneys) AND by watching his play, he is one of the best players, but has some glaring weaknesses. The same can be said about virtually every top player right now actually.

Yeah, Idra got real unlucky being paired against Chicken Combo. If only he had a pushover like Sangho or TLO in Ro64.

High level Koreans have been knocked out as well sooner than Idra and no one goes around calling them bad/saying they're not on the same level as the rest of the competition.
Though calling them terrible is certainly an exaggeration, I have no sympathy for them because everyone cheers for them here. Sorry but TLO and Idra are not the best players in the world. They are great, but the level of bias in these threads warrants people bringing the rabid fanboys back down to earth when reality kicks in.

IdrA just needs to practice his ZvZ, he's noticeably bad at it compared to his ZvP and ZvT.

he's pretty much the Rock Lee of starcraft

lol unless they paid them off to job because I doubt they'd know that the opponents would be horrible.

Actually if you notice the time between when he had hydralisk den up and the time he built hydras is huge. He kept droning.....
Defiantly game 1 he dug his own grave as you said with not dealing with the overseers.
