I think the greatest endorsement I can give the Staircase is that it's got me to play 171 games since I started it on 31 December.. that's 42 days which gives an average of 4 per day.. which is a rate of play I never would have come close to prior to using it (more like 10 per week). I didn't suffer from ladder anxiety exactly, but playing was always slightly stressful and I'd want to feel like I was somehow at my best to venture onto the ladder. As a result if I was tired or didn't have any time to warm up or whatever I'd give it a miss or just practice in a build order tester. However now any free moment I just go straight to the ladder and rack up some games! I feel like this is hugely beneficial as despite the fact that I've managed to divorce myself quite soundly from the importance of winning or losing any given game, playing against a human player still gives an added bonus to concentration and focus which I just don't feel when playing against AI/in a build tester. Also I think there's a real benefit to just playing on a daily basis for reinforcing muscle memory/mechanics which this has allowed. So yeah, all in all I think the Staircase is working brilliantly for me; it's caused me to play much more regularly, focus harder on weak areas in my game and overall is making me a fundamentally better mechanical player, great job Jak! PS. Jak if you're still looking for replays of people doing the various steps I'm sure I could find a step 3 zerg replay to provide you with that I'm not totally mortified to have anyone see. | ||

But since the supply cap is going to more likely be higher the longer the game is played maybe make it a ratio of game time:supply cap time. Just started this, and really like it, used to be top diamond a long time ago and this is what I need for fun and motiuvation to get my macro back. | ||

Supply cap does not count when you are at 200/200. So each build should have an ideal TSC. For example, when I 4 gate I can get it to 14 seconds. I think, though, on average a GM player will have something like 30 seconds TSC per game or something like that. I don't think time will play a big factor. Estimating from the graph is easier said than done tbh, I tried before the past to see how much off I'd be, and especially in longer games with much variance I'd be off by 25% easily. | ||

I signed up for ggtracker, but it asks me to change my current portrait to another portrait without telling me what to change the portrait to! (This is when I try to authenticate my profile). What should I do? | ||

I've been using the basic SQ by hovering my mouse over.. this should mean I get a lot more passes :D | ||
