@goldsteal29a have you downloaded 4.0? what unbounds do you have? (To test german keyboards we need german keyboard owners to download and test for us)

Basically what TLF said about UKQwerty: On November 29 2017 23:35 TurgidLeafMan wrote: 1. I presume the keys listed as 'Alt' in the master sheet are Alt GR for UKQwerty; these all required changing in-game from Alt to the Alt GR (cntrl + alt) modifier Now I fear that if I change the modifier to AltGr it still won't work as hoped -like in previous versions of TheCore for example as jotschgi10 described back in the good old days a few month ago: On July 20 2017 21:42 jotschgi10 wrote: Well as i said my ALT GR is being registerd as ALT + CONTROL so when iam adding camera locations iam creating control groups at the same time. Could you maybe sent me your hotkeys ? just so i can try it out ? Maybe i fucked something up. E-mail would be: jojo1234-1234@web.de [...] @TurgidLeafMan: Did just changing it make you encounter any unforeseen side effects like that? I'll guess I will just figure that out now myself and come back to you guys. Just hope that this time I can make it work without changing to a US layout every time I want to play StarCraft II. Examples: -Building supply depots/pylons, button ";" same as for building basic buildings. I'm confused because I think I read somewhere in the spreadsheets or similar that it's faster to never press the same button twice (I might be mistaken). Wouldn't it be more effective and intuitive to move it to "J" the same as building workers? -Building Barracks / Gateway / Roach warren, button "-". why not use "P" like main military building the in advanced buildings? -From the above two you can then rebind the static defense buildings to "-" and "[" and leave the macro buildings to shorter distance keys. -Select larvae, is bound to many buttons. How did you decide what buttons to bind and left out "J" that would be the same as building drones? Also why not only bind 2 buttons, say "P" and "J" and leave the rest of the upgrades in the hatchery/lair/hive to shorter to reach buttons? -Command center load, button "]". Why not use "-" like all other load into? -Stop, button "B", and Hold position, button "M". Isn't stop used more frequently and need shorter distance than hold position. Shouldn't they be swapped? -Why is minimap left clicking disabled in favor of scroll clicking, wouldn't this reduce efficiency because you need to move a finger? Especially since many people never use scroll clicking for anything. Note: I'm a pleb and haven't played since WoL so I don't really know what I'm talking about, but want to try to understand the reason behind the buttons so I don't rebind something that just takes away efficiency and/or other tricks. Edit: found 4.0+ spreadsheet and removed some questions.

I use the german layout and my unbounds on a fresh download of the core are: Create Control Group 5 Create Control Group 6 Create Control Group 7 Create Location 8 I have the AltGr problem stated above as well. I also noticed I am unable to left click the minimap, im not sure if this is intended.

I made backup of all schemes, created another custom scheme, changed needed keybindings, saved. All other custom schemes were messed up after that, replaced old schemes from backup - everything works and nothing is messed up. How this game handles keybindings is still mindblowing... So, thanks for advice.

Same unbounds here btw: I think TLM said something about that map clicking thing: On November 30 2017 15:22 somesuchnonsense wrote: @TurgidLeafMan clicking minimap isn't working because Global > Unit Management Move Mimimap Camera needs to be bounds to Left Mouse Button. Seems to be bound to middle mouse button instead, probably intentional? Cheers, goldsteal

minimap click is a bug, set it as usual alt gr should be fine, just bind everything that says "alt" in the spreadsheet to "alt+control" in game. for TheCore+ there should be no alt gr key involved at all! therealhandsup going to update the TheCore 4.0 Handbook to include the answers to your questions. If you haven't already poked around in there, it's the primary place to learn the logic of the layout. The answer about supply depots is in the first page of the spreadsheet (the one that instructs how to learn the layout quickly). edit: there should be 2 keys for build basic, fixing the files now. Thanks all for your patience, everything is perfect for US Qwerty because that's what I create it on, getting ported to the other keyboard layouts is a bit tricky so it's taking more time. EDIT: Fixed a bunch of bugs this morning! Anyone having issues, please download a fresh version and let me know the results! (especially non-USqwerty folks) Thanks <3

Found a bug in The Core 4.0+ (Right) (US QWERTY): The build reactor keys are all bound to ` instead of ' Not sure if this had been addressed in the follow up releases, sorry if it has PS: If anyone is setting up the core 4.0+ for campaign/co-op I would love some tips/advice/a copy of your finished set-up

Cheers, goldsteal Sorry for the late reply Gold; no, changing the alt to alt + control for AltGR had no adverse effects for me On December 06 2017 14:05 JaKaTaKSc2 wrote: Fixed a bunch of bugs this morning! Anyone having issues, please download a fresh version and let me know the results! (especially non-USqwerty folks) Heya JaK, I re-downloaded UKQwerty 4.0 Right to test the recent fixes. I'll list any issues I find below and keep editing them. Let me know if you make any fixes to them and I can cross them off. UKQwerty Core 4.0 Right Initial Unbounds (nothing important, just annoying to have unbounds) UI - Display Game Tooltips UI - Toggle Alliance Colour Mode UI - Toggle Minimap Terrain Cameras Location and Location Add - All fixed w.r.t. each other but still not in line with the master spread sheet. The new cntrl + P and cntl + J commands for rally point cam are on Cam 4 and not 1 (not a big deal) Control Groups All good w.r.t. each other. Still don't match the master spreadsheet and read OILK908U,. instead of OIL90K8U,. (also a nonentity for usage purposes but will not marry up with your 'suggested control groups' on the Master Sheet) Terran Concussive Shells on G instead of J Smart Servos on S instead of ; Protoss Chrono on [ instead of P Comments I understand that efficiency is the name of the game but I must say, with Shift now becoming the modifier to overwrite unit grouping the penalty for even a simple missclick while Shift + Queuing an SCV to build (for instance) is extremely severe compared to the older version. The amount of times I've jumped back to base, shift built some depots, fatfingered and overwritten my control groups is ridiculous o_O With the unit skills now on J and P I guess you cant use Shift to modify cameras or you'll end up jumping vision around while shift + ordering units. Any suggestions for a possible workaround? I'll take a marginal inefficiency over possible game-ending consequences any day ![]()

How to: 1. Install your The Core 4.0 hotkey file as described by JaKaTaK 2. Download this file: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/mklinik/TheCoreConverter/4.0-coopCampaign/hotkey_sources/coopCampaign.SC2Hotkeys 3. Append the contents of the file "coopCampaign.SC2Hotkeys" to the end of the [Commands] section of your The Core hotkey file The first time you load this combined hotkey file, Starcraft will sort the entries in alphabetical order. If you know how to use version control like git, I strongly suggest to track your Starcraft hotkey directory. This way you can see all the changes that Starcraft makes to your hotkey files. Hope this helps at least someone.

Well as a totally new player (Finally got some time to play SC2 WoL and HotS - received for free), I wanted to start with TheCore. The goal was to start learning new hotkeys while slowly playing a campaign. After reading the instructions , spreadsheets and watching your videos about TheCore I was amazed how much thought and practice were put into this project. Very nice analysis on learning curves and motivation. But let's go back to the point. I am totally new to SC2, I just want to start slowly with campaigns to learn the game. I've picked up USqwerty right handed 4.0. I have not chosen the plus version due to lack information whether it's considered better in any way - a matter of taste basically. Well, after applying the hotkeys everything just collapsed ![]() Started the 1st campaign and immediately received alert regarding missing and colliding hotkeys. So I've started searching for a solution. Unfortunately, it became a downward spiral for me. At first, I thought that the solution above, posted by MrMarkus will solve the problem - it didn't. By opening unmodified hotkey file I've found that some hotkeys (especially CG hotkeys) are totally different than the one mentioned both on 4.0 Control Group and Terran Righty Medium Spreadsheet. For example: add to control group command. According to TheCore Master Spreadsheet -> 4.0 Control Groups Camers and Terran Righty Medium Spreadsheet Ctrl + Sign/Letter should do just that Well in the The Core 4.0 Right.SC2Hotkeys file it is actually Control+Alt+Shift +Sign/Letter Quick look at Right Handed Finger Map and I can see that Alt Ctrl and Shift are meant to be pressed by a thumb hmm.. Is the information outdated? Are all those spreadsheets apply to version 4.0? I've found that there is additional link with version 3.0. (Download section). Maybe this is the one I should use, hm? Again there is no information in download section about which version should I get. Interactive DEMO seems outdated althought it's the second clickable link on the page. I was thinking, maybe the project is already dying and less and less content is being updated? Hopefully not. To the point. Am i doing sth wrong or are there tons of outdated files around? It's really confusing.

You can use previous that should be OK for campaigns, or have a look at TheCore Lite: no unbounds in campaign, coop, as well as multi If there were some motivated persons, you can reuse TheCore Lite infrastructure to help ensuring that there is no conflict against all campaigns and all commanders up to Abathur, and there is no regression from reference point (here TheCore 4.0). Feel free to fork and get in touch in case of any questions Edit: link to TheCore Lite TL thread, http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/333891-thecore-lite-advanced-keyboard-layout

Hmm, then there are other matters to settle. 1. Is the information in the Interactive Demo up to date? http://ivanvolosyuk.github.io/thecorevisualizer/visualizer/ 2. are TheCore Reference Spreadsheets up to date? (1st page ->under Resources) eg https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1YsGhkSIEHM8ZpcyRiU-ZXX57EMx_FdyTUsbFbninrVo/edit#gid=37 3. what about Layouts? 4. why Download section has only version 3.0 available. Not a single word about version 4.0. 5. am I right to think that all updated files are in the first link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1ui2HNwaUa4FkHzRwATgXHNVEpolLNOzA 6. In case I am right about 5th question why hotkeys mentioned here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1UrCivO9Eg_UGYCUIS_n8TbWPQV6r_QZu in the TheCore Master Spreadsheet under 4.0 Control Groups Cameras tab are different than in actual SC2 file that I copy to my account folder? I just opened freshly downloaded file with my notepad and there are those differences =) Please answer to all my questions and please delete all outdated links or at least make a visible statement that those are not updated. It's too messy for a newbie to find out what is going on ![]() I can set those hotkeys ingame myself, just don't which of them are from the latest version.

About your first item, keeping TheCoreVisualizer updated requires either a dedicated guy for adjusting at any minor change or a sophisticated system to point at the latest source available. I tried to get in touch with some guy to get an instance of Thecorevisualizer pointing at the an updated content for TheCoreLite, I never got an answer. I understand that some have others priorities because I do also have limited time available For TheCoreLite, I defined an approach to be able to maintain with reasonable effort on the long run with only minor changes and as much backward compatibility as possible (at the cost of efficiency, probably). My approach is requiring no intervention/sync with anyone (and could be run as a one-man-show by anyone motivated in case I disappear from the Web): it is excluding any redundant cosmetic deliverables to get sync, only relying on GitHub and automation. No masterspreadsheet (duplicate of .SC2Hotkeys in my view), no visualizer (there is already a GUI to look at hotkeys in SC2). Design choices are documented in the GitHub repository. As a result, TheCore Lite is probably not as much optimized as it could be but it's usable for campaigns and coop to jump in and is already better (enough) than Standard/Grid (I'm OK to offer support for any person wanting to start anything reusing this approach/infrastructure: answering questions and making tools more generic) JaK's approach for TheCore 4.0 looks like: – .SC2Hotkeys scope limited to LoTV multi: maximized optimization for current competitive play from accumulated best practices over years – only 2 files in place of 2×4×3 for better readability (only one group/cam layout, one hand size supported) – an extension to supported reassigned Control/Shift/Alt keys for more efficiency – mastergooglesheet to get an overview of the LoTV multiplayer and spot issues and help reviews – googledrive for delivery – shared documents for users to come on board and explain design choices (I love those coming with version 4.0!) (obviously only this material is supported as of now and it's all at the same place) If you want things really to get better, propose your help… Actually pointing at issues is already helpful ![]()

![]() I'd like to invite you all to TheCore Discord Server! This is for everyone! In the past we've had developer servers for people working on scripts, layouts, educational materials etc, but I'd like to make the server a place where you can easily find someone experienced in TheCore to help you out and answer questions, be it me or someone else. That said! Time to fix the buggies ![]() <3 <3 <3
