I assume this is just an oversight, as the build basic/advanced is set to ' and / respectively in the TRM and ZRM race-specific hotkeys? | ||

That's an oversight, thanks for pointing it out. The Main Page is out of date. Stick with the PTR and Zerg tabs for now. @Everyone On the Archive you can see what we're doing to make observing better with TheCore. Control Groups and Camera Keys will no longer conflict once I add these keys into the files. Hopefully will be done today. EDIT: Also changing the Order of CGs so that they make sense with the suggested CGs. Putting them in order by the way the keyboard is laid out doesn't matter once the keys have been memorized. What does matter is how it looks on the screen so you can easily find everything should you need to look at it (if your CG is messed up for example). | ||

Known bugs for observing with TheCore: Play/Pause got set to the wrong side. (I'll fix tomorrow) Ctrl+Shift+key does not work with speed up/slow down replay. If other people could test and confirm this it would be very helpful. | ||

I don't know the exact rule, but where you current camera is and whether or not you've got a big cluster of units anywhere on the map is a big part of it. I find that if I've got say 4 zerglings and a spawning pool in one group, and the lings are spread out a bit so I can have more vision, if I'm in my base and doubletap it goes to my pool, but if I'm somewhere out on the map and I doubletab it goes to a ling. It definitely is an annoying thing, especially early on in the game when you've got a couple of lings- or later on in the game when you've got only a couple of lings spread out to keep an eye on expansions. I think I might keep my pool on [ with the evo chambers. (I'm also using that key for OLs so I can generate creep when I go to lair tech. If I ever make vipers, I ctrl+shift click the OLs out of the group and then ctrl+shift+[ to remake the group) | ||

Here are my thoughts on the issue: 1) If one wanted to use one camera for creep spread, I'd suggest HI. 2) Even if one really wanted to use OJ, one simply must move their hand over, and complete the end of option 7. I.e.press O with index. Press U with ring to spread creep, and press J with pinkie while resetting home position. 3) These cams are quite accessible from the home row if now spreading creep. | ||

I don't really understand what you are saying. The camera keys are now on ctrl+H and ctrl+O. Before we worked on this creep spread method, they were on Ctrl+J and Ctrl+O. If you want to use a cam for something other than creep (say, a rally cam, though I think for Zerg that is unnecessary) you are free to do so. If you want, say, one cam for creep spread and one cam for rally- you would just put your creep cam on Ctrl+H and your rally cam on ctrl+O. As far as I can see, nothing is impeded by this. When you say you want to fork- what would you be changing and why exactly? | ||

I can confirm that ctrl shift P does not increase the speed of my replay. However, ctrl shift O is successfully decreasing it. Trying to figure out the issue now. Edit: things that create or add to control groups do not work. Ctrl P does not pause or play, for example. I am going to see if this affects only replay functions, or observer ones as well. Edit: It seems like control group modifiers can be on observer functions but not on replay functions. Tres weird. I'll make a sheet 18 and adjust so you can decide quicker tomorrow ![]() Edit... but skip forward and skip back do work on cg modifiers... | ||

Also, using free cams is going to put me out of home position, where before this creep method, I could stay on home pos and have the free cams. And the thing is, what if someone *doesn't* use this creep spread method. Again, I don't mind it being there for others, I'm trying to see if there is an alternative that would allow easier offracing while not - rightfully so - compromise on creep spread. In summary, if you use your cams for other things, say, ovies, nyduses, etc., then they will needlessly force you to move out of home pos. And in the grand scheme of things, I feel TheCore is moving toward a "this is optimized for a certain *way* of doing things" rather than "you can do more with it, the way you like it", which is not necessarily a bad thing, I might add, just in this case, not to my taste. @Borskey: I feel like the offracing side of ZRM is left out, so I'm going to give it some love. Also, some buttons that are scored high do not agree with my hands, so I'm going to change things around a bit. The downside is that I can't just download TheCore whenever there is a new update, I actually have to watch the changes and incorporate them individually, but 'git diff' is gonna be handy! I just copied the doc for myself, no changes yet. If anyone's interested, I could report back or just make my version public. | ||

You can alternate bind creep as / if you want. Also, pressing H is such a small move off the homerow, I really don't think it is terribly inconvenient. I do agree that J is better ![]() None of the layouts, except the original random layout, was designed to off race with. Since P and T are so similar (indeed, similar enough to share a layout!), I understand why it feels like zxx has little off race capability. Unfortunately, it seems hard to increase functionality for off race while maintaining the efficiency of the main. If you can find any ways to do this, that would be great. Already you developed the idea of putting production on another control group ![]() | ||
