To be honest, i think this guide is all you need if you're terran, it makes other guides look medicore. Thanks again filter, im about to be promoted to masters (currently in high diamond facing mid masters) because of this guide.

Thank you so much! This is great for us total beginners. While I love Day9, his target audience seems to be a step above me. He does hammer the basics but you do it very clearly and in a concrete, noob-friendly way. You have helped me a lot!

Great guide its been very helpful.
I seem stuck on the Episode 8 benchmarks however. I just seem never able to make the 14 minute max out and normally manage at 14:20-14:30.
Just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with this benchmark?

Don't stress out over the 14 minute max out. It's virtually impossible if you're getting upgrades and teching properly.

I think it's less time-consuming to 4gate or 7roachrush your way to Gold league and then start macro-building from there. I saw way too much stupid stuff, like extreme turtling with planetary fortresses, or mass cannons into void ray/colossus, stuff that even if you out-macro you can lose, or you can win after a 45- minute engagement of sending wave after wave after wave.

what do you do about 2 base baneling bust cause i'm getting screwed by it all the time and i have no amount units or bunkers to stop it and when i do they just keep on doing it over and over again.

Hey filter, just want to say thanks for this video series. It has really helped me a lot. I was a low gold terran versing mostly silvers. But now my rank has jumped from 40 to top 8 gold and I am starting to verse platinum players. I had ladder anxiety before watching your videos. But now I feel more relaxed, knowing that this build is really solid and safe against most things. I still get nervous pressing the search button on 1v1, but once I start playing 1 game, I feel like playing another game and another game and another game lol. My winrate is maybe around 80 percent. Most of the loses are from cheese. Anyway, thanks again filter for the videos.

Time for an update, and more praise.

I just started the Bronze Zerg benchmarks on the ladder, and so far I've gone 11-1, bringing me to a solid Rank 1 in my Gold division. I'm hitting top gold, and plat - winning easily.

the one loss was a bunker rush (a terrible one)... it shouldn't have been an issue at all, but I've been so obsessed with making drones that I panicked and completely botched my defense. However, I was playing early in the morning and wound up re-queuing against the same guy again.

He actually apologized for the cheese, and promised a macro game... I walked into his base at 12 minutes or so with three times his supply, and twice as many workers. ( incidentally I was still off my benchmarks this game )

Him: "Nice army..."
Him: "What build is that... Stephano?"
Me: "Not a build, just macro!"

I directed him to FilterSC, explaining how these guides changed my life - He got confused that my zerg build was from a terran macro guide, then gg'd.

Life is good. Filter is amazing. Can't wait for Silver Zerg Benchmark!

Couldn't agree more, on all three points.

Haven't seen Filter post for a while in this thread, I thought he said he was working on some more Zerg benchmarks last week but I'm not sure. Can't wait to see them.

He's probably trying to figure out the right way to teach zerg. I assume zerg and protoss aren't as straight forward since they dont have a basic unit that shoots up and down. There WAS a guy on reddit who went from bronze to high plat making only stalkers, and a guy who laddered up as zerg making only queens lol, but those lessons arent as practical.

These are the types of guides we need more of here. I loved to watch day9, but my mechanics were never able to support the interesting strategies he had. He also had some dailies that talked about the fundamental mechanics, but giving a specific build order and goal to work with here really helps out a lot more. This will also help me learn other races once he's done with them. Everyone should subscribe to filter'schannel or ask other casters to look into this and give him a shout out.

zerg bronze benchmarks feel quite difficult relative to the terran ones

managing all those injects + drones for 8 minutes straight then keeping the injecting going as you take gas + tech up to roaches and mass roaches till the upgrades complete is a little harder than building scvs + rax + depots + marines for 13 mins

I agree, but pushing out at 10, setting up a 3 third, adding extra production and micro your push at the same time is the real challange as Terran. While Z has a big chunk of work already done after 8 Minutes...

This is actually while i willl give Z a try. I hate the boring start as a T

Just keep going, it is difficult, but it just takes practice. I am able to do it now and I wasn't before and I'm beating gold league players while still in bronze (as long as they don't rush me ^^). I got promoted to silver league. I will continue with the bronze league strategy until he uploads the silver league one. I'm sure eventually he'll show us how to deal with rushes.

I do not really feel comfortable playing your TvT variations , ( I m sure hey are awesome builds but for some reason i can`t fnid myself playing them confortable as said above,)

So yesterday at Red Bull Lan i saw, i belive it was bomber (might be wrong here ;D so many games ^^)
do a simmilar build than your`s , with that i do not only mean 1 rax expand but simmilar timings but with different outcome. So i decided to give it a shot and tried to create my own variaton,
I,ve ben trying different things out the whole day now and this one seems about right .

My game play in this replay is far away from beeing perfect and i end up making a few mistakes. Ive been able to max out in slightly under 14 minutes in other games , But this one probabely shows the way i wanted to play it out the best.

I would be glad if you guys could spare some time and look at the replay and give me some tips or maybe help me refine the buildorder.
Please do keep in mind that I m only at platin leve tough.
