I think zerg macro is much easier. The moving out and adding production and managing to get your whole production cycle off while trying to kite with units used to be a terrible mess for me, and still is a bit blergurgle at times.

Definitely this. I found the zerg mechanics to actually be much easier, and I'm not entirely sure why, but I've progressed so far with terran I'm really debating whether I should switch to zerg... I'm wining a lot with terran, even if I'm not having as much fun as when I play zerg... but I think winning is fun! :O, although I Guess once I get my zerg mechanics down I'll be winning just as much... Such a hard decision! lol.

I disagree because you don't have to micro your units as intensely. Also, once your done droning you just pretty much inject and make fighting units that you dont have to micro so much.

The problem I have, and the best thing for my starcraft is I don't have any limitation for something. It's all in or nothing, luckily in it's current state D3 couldn't hold my attention. (still a great game, but I just love starcraft way way more.) Edit: Startale Ace really seemed to bring the full potential of warp prisms into play, if other players can pickup on that... wow.

Love the videos. Quick question. For someone wanting to start the game with the pure bio, as per the standard build in your videos, but then go into a mid and late game of marine/tank/medivac against vZ and vT, how would you recommend adapting the build? What I've been doing which seems pretty good is: * Standard build up to factory ... then, the deviations would be: * After factory --> tech lab on factory, and keep starport naked --> start making tanks and single medivacs ... prioritize tank production (never miss a tank) * Somewhere around 9 min, convert to reactor starport * After taking 3rd, instead of 4 rax, instead make 2 rax and 2 factory ... and instantly take 2 gas at 3rd @13-14 minutes, instead of 9 rax, 1 reactor starport it would be 7 rax, 3 factory, 1 reactor starport (on 6 geysers) ... other than that, your standard build, so shooting for 2-1 at ~14 minutes etc. Tried to mix in a 2nd factory earlier, but I don't think you have the gas if you are sticking to the other parts of the build (i.e. all the upgrades). Would something like this approach work as a mid and late game marine/tank variation on the base build?

(Hey Filter, I've already thanked you for your videos through PM but I also want to thank you here.) I am a diamond level terran (a bad diamond tho, you can call me platinum) and I managed to hit every benchmark except getting to 200/200 @ 14:00. My record is 14:30 against computer, but I will keep trying. IMPORTANT: To all non-master league readers here like me: I can't emphasize how much difference it has made, thinking and aiming for a "certain benchmark" instead of thinking "I need to make workers non-stop (because I want to do macro and I need a good economy to do things etc. etc." Back then, when I tried to build workers non-stop just by thinking about it, even after a small harass I could forget what I was doing, but Filter's approach changed my view on the game entirely. I just don't miss any workers no matter what, because I am always saying "I need to hit X benchmark no matter what", the difference is amazing. I really suggest this benchmark method, not only for your build orders or gameplay but also for your mental constitution.

I think 14:15-14:30 is probably the fastest ... again assuming 2-1 finished @ 14 (and combat shield, conc shell, etc.). I've also managed 14:30'ish, and feel I was going almost perfectly - hit every other benchmark, never was supply blocked, money was incredibly low the whole time, was dropping all mules, etc. Really seems like 14 min would be almost impossible.

I was pretty experienced with Zerg and Protoss (Diamond - Mastersish), but after taking a few months off and starting again with Terran these videos really saved me. You never really know how bad you are at macroing until you try to consistently hit those benchmarks.

However, you will not receive good advice until you're able to post a replay.

I out macro them then but they have so many defenses that I just lose, I can't do anything right it seems, I switched from toss to terran to do his terran series and I just keep losing. This sucks, this guide brought me back from quiting and just playing LoL because I am ok at that game and I just keep losing. Its getting incredibly frustrating as I just can't seem to get it together, does anyone have any advice? Its getting ridiculous, I'm getting bane busted, I'm getting destroyed even with all the benchmarks, I can't provide a replay right now but I can in the future. Post replays, then we can tell how well you hit the benchmarks or if it's just some other unfortunate factor.

Also please state what league you're in and what benchmarks you're on. E.g. doing the Bronze video stuff by just pumping out marines is probably getting crushed by AoE units in higher leagues.
