Hi, low-mid NA terran here. I've been practicing my TvZ with a fellow and I've been having trouble defending his baneling bust at around 8~10ish every game. Regardless of whether I go hellion fe or 3 reaper fe, I cannot defend it no matter what. He busts my wall easily with lings to spare and streamlines them in until I have nothing left, making a few more banelings if he has to. I don't think it would have turned out any different if I didn't expand or if I just wall up and mass bunkers behind it. The timing window is so that I get hit right before I have any medivacs, siege tanks, and/or enough units to micro/defend this. If I go mech, then theoretically I might have been able to defend it if I had better macro/micro (I didn't have enough hellions and banelings killed all my workers). Is there anything I could do? Any tips, tricks, advice, etc?

for early game, use command center and baracks to wall in completely waiting for 4-6 hellions.
For mid game, siege tank should be good enough but need to use siege tank to shift click the bannelings.

As a zerg player Bane busts are pretty all in so just try and stay alive after you know its coming.

In the first replay you scouted two gases pretty early. Also you kept mining gas for yourself but didn't really do much with it. I understand the desire to want that super rax wall you made but consider changing your build a bit. You had way more Rax than you were able to healthily support. Tanks wreck banes. Even two at the high ground would have done wonders against his push. (not 100% sure you could have had them out timing wise but it would have been close.) Try a helion expand instead as the extra map control would have given you a bit more knowledge as well. Lift off and place all of your rax at your ramp instead if you really want to hold. It takes forever to break a wall like that and you won't be too too far behind.

Its hard to stop if unscouted but you had a decent bit of time to react because you saw the early second gas and should have guessed something fishy was going to occur.

I know this wasn't super helpful but hope it helps a bit.
I have a question...

Its a semi-all zerg-in that is becoming increasing more popular in tvz, you don´t need tanks or mass hellions to hold it. It mainly comes down to 4 things, 1) scouting, 2) good building placements, 3) good micro and 4) good macro.

1) If you open hellions or reapers, you should have a good sense of his ling count which often indicate such a bust, but this is not always possible, having some early map vision with towers, scouting marines/scv/hellion will be key to not be caught offguard.

2) You´ll want at least 1 bunker in front of your natural and preferably a few depots in front of it, whether you wall off completely or just make a bunker depot front (bomber style) is up to you. You need a wall off to your main as well, but this is standard.

3) If you scouted the banes morphing or saw mass ling incoming, then prepare for the bust, move all your scvs to your main and split your marines, pull any hellions in the back and if any marauders fill the chokes or hold position on ramp in front of depots. Retreat to your main and raise your depot to your main, Once the banebust comes, focus fire banelings.

4) You can´t cut corners, or tech too heavily - you will need a decent micro or you simply don´t have enough units. Buy time for the tanks/banshee/medivacs to pop and reclaim your natural, and you´re ahead if you didnt lose too many scvs - some depots and a bunker lost is perfectly fine.
