He dropped his initial pylon in his main and followed with a 12/13 gate. He then took his expo, second pylon and forge (I can't remember the exact order which is frustrating!). He was able to get up gas for WG and a faster core (with the gateway being done so early). It allowed him to hit at 6:30-7:00 with 4 warped in zealots at the zergs fast third. It was a very impressive build on account that it hit the same time as a pvp 4gate BUT he also had a forge+cannon expo up. I can't remember if he had +1 but I don't think he did. Didn't kill the third but forced a LOT of lings (on account of the roach warren being down at the normal time for a fast three base zerg) I can't find the vod and wondered if anyone had seen or heard of something like this? It was so much nicer than the normal 4 gate pressure after expand at 7:30-8:00 when zergs typically have the roaches to shut you down.

I could see this working, with the way the meta is going now most zergs are ready for our +1 4gate poke, but remember you're still very open to a speedling opening, which a lot of zergs will go if they see you not doing a FFE.

When grubby did this build he was cross positions on entombed and he had a probe keeping tabs on exactly what the zerg was doing. He knew the zerg was not going to get aggressive (gasless +3 base @ 5:30). Also if I recall the zerg didn't scout that it was a gateway first in the main (just saw a late forge + nexi on low ground) As a result he was very greedy with not building early units AND delaying the cannon for a long time (faster core). Can't find vods on twitch and I really would like to figure out this build as it was very strong with the zerg lacking a roach warren...

I`ve seen him doing that build on other maps, like Metalopolis, when he only scouted after the Nexus.

This is just hypothetical because I usually just lose to it straight up due to poor micro but I assume it would be when I've matched or overtaken his zealot numbers? If you are still at ~16 workers, once you are out producing zelots and have the minerals, you should add a 3rd gate and go kill his base after de powering his 2 gates. If he some how gets up cannons BEFORE you get to his bade , exapnd and take your gasses

Any tips? I really couldn't decide how to split my army. Maybe just my zealots to delay him at my nat and then the rest to my main? Replay: http://sc2rep.com/replays/(T)GTFONoobXD_vs_(P)AbsoluTe/19051 Thanks in advance. I won't be able to reply for a while, off to work.

The hardest thing vs Terran I have found so far is a 2 prong stim MMM push off of 2 base before I have colossus. In this game I might have had my colo up earlier if I delayed my upgrades, and didn't get supply blocked at a crucial point, but I still think I would have lost a lot. Any tips? Both is risky.

I'll post my build when I'm done it later. But I can say for now that it's pretty good vs a lot of terran builds.

Obviously if your opponent is going double E-Bay then you go double forge in like; but how would forge timings differ if they got a more standard 1 E-Bay, or no E-bays at all (or perhaps just late E-bays), or if they went for a gas+barracks pressure into expand (like a 2rax, because of course if your opponent 3rax allins you, no forges would be needed, same with 1-1-1 ofc); how do all of these factors effect the optimal timing of the Forge? If you go fast colossus, there's really two different forge timings that are commonly used as fas as i know. You can go single forge as you get your first 1-2 colossi out, ie "when you feel safe" as this guide says (it's pretty old though) http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=196385. With this build (or something similar) you usually only max out with 2/1 upgrades (or something along those lines), so you don't have a sick strong timing like with a fast double forge for example. The other common variation is to throw down 2 forges after your colossi start coming up (i'd say around 9ish minutes); stay on 3gates, robo and 2 forges and then take a third. With this variation, you will have 2/2 when you first max out so you do have a decent timing if the terran went for slower upgrades (single ebay). I don't think the opening stage of the game differns in terms of forge timing; the trigger for you to get upgrades is "safety", ie, 1-2 colossus.

I once was a Mid Masters Protoss until I stoped playing for about a year. 5 Days ago I started playing again and got placed into Dia. My problem now is that I have no idea how I am supposed to expand against zerg. Lings are just everywhere or even Mutas. And if I move my Army to the new expo he makes a run by with his lings and I am fucked. Same if I split my Army. If I dont split, he just takes out my Nexus and my cannons. Can you help me?
