Previous power rankings have Sea, Leta, Effort as #1, even if Jaedong/Flash/Bisu were clearly favorites in a series
This was not in times where Jaedong/Bisu or Flash was winning an absurd ammount of games though. Flash cannot be punnished for anything he've done this month. Going from "don't even argue this one" to nr2 for losing ONE 40minute TvT isn't realistic.

I'll reconsider if Flash loses to Light tomorrow, Light 4-0's his OSL group, and Flash gets disqualified from the MSL due to a power outage during the group selection ceremony.

if light beats flash he should clearly be number1..
significantly better record this month than nr1 and beating nr1 = should be automatically first

I wish that was the rule during Jaedong reign... It is just a half of the month and Light has been only playing that well for a month or so. We will see if he manages to get to OSL and how will he do over next half the month.
But unless Flash underperforms badly during remaining month he should stay no1. He can't be penalized for playing fewer games than Light and losing one game. Even beating Flash doesn't give you the right to no1 spot. What if he beats Flash and then loses badly to for example Stats or fails against Zero in OSL?

significantly better record this month than nr1 and beating nr1 = should be automatically first I agree with that principle when the victory is in a best of five, but certainly not for a Bo1 where the players don't even know beforehand which map it'll be, or if they play each other at all. Flash has been dominating for a long time (particularly noticeable now that Jaedong isn't also dominating) and Light has been dominant for Winner's League only. That Light has been even more dominant than Flash in Winner's League, while the starleagues are inactive, is impressive, but not grounds for a sudden replacement as top Terran.

It's funny how fast people discount Flash. I guess it happens with every player, but it just seems that Flash gets hit with it the hardest.
Everyone's already said it, but an OSL gold, MSL silver and completely dominating proleague for much longer than Light is very impressive. Especially when, not to take away from Light's run, but his stats are padded by a couple easy all-kills that Flash didn't have a chance for.
Light has been playing well, but the pr has never been about pure stats that month or even just play for that month, especially not a month without individual leagues.

JD at least redeemed himself a bit, should be enough for top3.
Pity JD won't have a chance to show his form the next weeks since PL will take a break.
|
Well there's no redeeming himself because he already dropped one league. The real question is if Light qualifies over Zero. If he does then he's for sure #2.

How did the discussion go from Flash nearly being a bonjwa right now to Light taking the first spot in PR anyway?

bandwagon, i believe, light NEEDs individual success or he will be fluke forever

I don't think there ever was a real discussion, only alot of Flash fans claiming that he was becoming a Bonjwa...

Anyone who doesn't acknowledge the bonjwa-esque dominance of Flash the past 6 months or so is blind as a bat.

So, can we stop this bullshit now?
Flash #1.

Looks like
1. Flash 2. Jaedong
is secure again :o

If Light does well in OSL I think he should be #2 (considering how badly JD failed there, Light crushing JD H2H and that he has a better record in WL).

Oh right, I totally forgot about that. Light vs Zero should be very interesting (yes, Light will beat PerfectMan).

^at least we've moved on to a logical debate about placement now....
I think a lot will come down to Light's OSL group, take that in a convincing fashion and I think #2 is his, he will after all have a shot to prove himself in the WL playoffs. Of course if he fails to qualify for the OSL or shows weak play the spot should be JD's
