so, if i were hypothetically to be told i was mafia, and im not allowed to PM, how do i get in contact with other mafia members? or are we not supposed to plan? In death factory it looked like the mafia had an irc channel they were chatting in.

Knowing the mods this is probably well balanced, also consider that there are 10 anti-town and 20 town, which means that 33% of the votes are held by anti-town forces, also many of the insane powers can backfire and hurt the town. We also don't know which powers mafia and third party are going to have, (much like in Factory actually...) All in all this is not going to be an easy game, mafia never is.

In this game the mayor is a little special: What powers do the mayor have? Two (role picked) town bodyguards, and decides the day 1 lynch. Remember! The bodyguards will NOT be picked, and will NOT be revealed (of course, feel free to roleclaim if you want) Bodyguards are people that have to be killed off before the mayor can be killed. Hence the mayor will not only be able to decide the first kill, he will also likely live longer. Usually the mayor chooses his own bodyguards, but in this game he gets 2 assigned. Normally the bodyguards are public, but they appear to be hidden in this setup. For an example of a game featuring a mayor election, check out Mafia XXXVI, but note that in that game the mayor could choose his own bodyguards, they where public, and the mayor was granted an additional power specific to that setup.

EDIT: also, do the bodyguards protect you from being lynched aswell? And i guess that in a equal vote scenario, the major vote is deciding?

I think But as for your question, there are only 4 blues, so it shouldn't be an issue. Just a little hint, it is a really bad idea to claim your role. And i guess that in a equal vote scenario, the major vote is deciding? Yep, the town basically elects a mayor. People will have to run for the mayorship and the players will vote who will become the mayor. In the event of a tie, the player who first reached the tying amount of votes will be granted mayorship.
