For once, TSM got the easiest group, after losing the 1st pool seed at MSI. If it weren't for that, they could have gotten placed in group C with Samsung and RNG again... All according to keikaku
EDIT: although they could still get WE as the 3rd seed
TSM so lucky, that group is definitely the easiest, even if WE get in. LZ also got a pretty ez group, unless IMT suddenly beast mode or something. Not that they need it though, I'm expecting them to be the big contender for winning the whole tournament besides SKT.
EDG AHQ SKT in a group is like a combined S6/S5 group mashup, brings back memories, sweet games incoming. AHQ roster is unchanged from last Worlds, SKT has some changes and EDG is as well, but still enough previous players to make it a cool rematch.

Definitely. There's 0 even semi-valid excuses outside of extreme circumstances to not get out this year.
One negative you could make is if they make it out they are highly likely to get a hard team in quarters.
edit: If WE makes it through play ins would they go to group D most likely?
If all the major region teams make it through, WE goes into D 100%. If there's an upset to any major region, it's 50%. If WE busters out in play-ins, obviously it's 0.
Getting 2nd will mean auto-KR in quarters unless something surprising happens.

Which is why it is important for them to get out of the group as the 1st place team, otherwise they are pretty much guaranteed to get a Korean team in the Ro8 match-up. Luckily for them, getting a Korean-less group is also their best shot at getting the 1st spot in group stage.
Overall pretty cool groups. Nothing overly boring or too lopsided. If WE make it into D it makes the group significantly harder for everyone there so hopefully that happens. Misfits are being a bit slept on. Sure they lost pretty badly to G2 but honestly TSM and G2 are extremely similar teams. TSM has a bit more muscle in laning phase but otherwise they play almost same style. Think Misfits may be a hard matchup for TSM in the long run. I wouldn't say TSM is locked in for number 1 at all.
From what I've read on reddit, WE is pretty much guaranteed in Group D, unless a major region messes up, because of the regions in TSM's own group. So they didn't get a free ticket to play off, but pretty damn close. Personally I think WE is China's second best team, and on a good day their best, except their loss to RNG (which they could have absolutely won) tilted them off the face of the Earth, so they almost lost the spot to iG who played their absolute best (i.e the Rookie show).
Don't think TSM can beat them, WE has players just as good or better ( 957 Condi > Sven Hauntzer) and they have very good macro, and in the gauntlet we saw them respond to iG highly aggressive map plays with equal bloodthirst, filling in one of their major weaknesses. But who knows, maybe MSF is going to surprise us with their play.
