You might as well say all the analysis he does for OGN commentary is helping all of CLG's rivals as well.

Why are you guys arguing? It's obvious that the tweet came off as arrogant. No need to mask it by saying it's a conflict of interest or whatever.

It's kind of disingenuous to think that TSM wouldn't have been able to figure out "if blue side bans 3/4 of the good champs at X role you should ban out the 4th"

Personally I'm glad he tweets stuff like that. I enjoy reading it. I'm sure there is many others like me

However.
It is ultimately CLG's responsibility to kick Monte into being more professional and avoid these conflicts of interest in what he does. Yes, his position as OGN commentator is in itself a conflict of interest in the sense that he gives analysis and comments to the public, which he could otherwise hold confidential to CLG itself.
This depends on CLG's contract negotiation with Monte, but unfortunately, it is quite obvious that CLG has misplayed their position (coming from young, non-legal, non-professional gaming backgrounds) into a weaker one compared to Monte's.
1. They obviously don't pay Monte enough to command the respect to remove such conflicts of interest from coming up. 2. Giving the shortage of good English-speaking analysts, CLG obviously feels that they need Monte more than he does them, and they have assumed a weak negotiating position subconsciously. You could argue that this is logical, but if you want to negotiate a contract, you aren't supposed to do the logic-crunching that benefits the other side. You are supposed to play give and take and uphold your own interests, not your logic.
If I was CLG's owner/manager, I would be very pissed with Monte doing his analysis tweets (especially regarding direct competitors). I wouldn't even want Monte doing analysis tweets or even commentary at all, because that is akin to advertising your credentials for potential suitors. Then again, I would have to consider whether he is worth the money to place these restrictions on his public actions.
Anyhow, not the best relationship-building decisions from Monte, but he definitely has the public value to do it and profit from it.
TL's general comments only consider the gamer/viewer aspect and do not respect the employer/business aspects. Monte's audience is mostly gamers/viewers, so yeah...

TSM needs some HotshotGG wisdom; Gleeb clearly has to step up as the team's shotcaller, so he should go in the jungle. Amazing can then take over top lane, bench Dyrus, bring in Daydreamin as their new support, then when that doesn't work out, move Gleeb back into Support while benching Daydreamin, and bring in Mancloud as their new jungler.
+ Show Spoiler +Just a reference to the silly CLG roster swaps of moving Chauster from Support into Jungle, displacing Hotshot from jungle to top, bringing in a new support in Aphromoo, then moving Chauster back into support, benching Aphro and bringing in bigfatlp as their new jungler :p

This is one of the funniest, most hilariously short-sighted discussions I've heard (from Zulu_nation). Okay, let's pretend you were actually good enough to contribute to professional League. You are the analyst for a team that is, at best estimation, a #3 team in a region that is definitively weaker than Korea. You want your team to get good enough to compete meaningfully at Worlds.
So, if your goal is Worlds performance, not just showing up and getting your teeth kicked in, do you a) take cheap wins off a team of strong players with brain-dead strategy or b) point out the obvious mistake so they might actually present a challenge?
It only benefits CLG (and the rest of NA) if TSM cuts the soloQ shit out, that is, if NA wants to continue to improve. If your metric of success is beating up on TSM, then you have a bad metric and then sure, don't tell them they are being stupid. NA as a region needs to improve if they ever hope to compete with Korea.

Dig,gg, 2 weeks down 11 to go. Crossing my fingers, knocking on wood etc etc.
Monte does what Monte does because Monte is as Monte is because Monte does what Monte does.
In other news: won all my fantasy league games this week, good to have 3+ Dig on my teams

I don't remember that being a coach excluded you from talking about the weaknesses of other teams. o_O
Especially when they're common sense and easy to point out things.

Also, if TSM didn't realize what went wrong with picks/bans then I think Monte bringing it up isn't somehow going to make TSM a great team. If they couldn't figure that shit out for themselves then they're doomed the rest of the split anyway and will be a non-factor.

lol @ ppl getting butthurt over monte's post.
He's telling TSM something a plat player can see. He's not analysing shit for them. He's telling them, very subtly, that they're retarded. It's not like he's calling out specific rotations or level one strats or certain ward placements that need or need not be done. It's "hurrrr u left l33sin open ag4in n00bs".
Like fuck, ppl need to get sticks outta their asses.
|
if it's obvious, so why do it? show his twitter followers how smart he is? show himself?
|
...It's a shot at TSM.
Obviously it's more subtle than it needs to be cuz some people still can't see it lol.

the butthurt is real. it's just twitter and a tweet. hohoho.

I guess the butthurt is coming from the fear that the sudden relevation will prevent it from happening for the 4th time to whoever that plays them next and in turn causes a chain reaction that would result in TSM taking 2nd place this split again over teams such as CoL and Curse.
