TWEETS ABOUT THE INCIDENT FROM SOME MLG STAFF Adam Apicella @MrMLGAdam We had them play it out because we did not know what the decision was until we gathered all of the evidence. . CLG_L1Nk115 @L1nk115 dignitas didn't reveal their whole strats imo, but curse definitely revealed a lot of stuff.... sad tourney rofl . MonteCristo @ggCMonteCristo No one should be surprised by the decision made by MLG and Riot. eSports needs professionalism to move forward. . Adam Apicella @MrMLGAdam The collusion was planned and discussed in a public, crowded setting. The entire venue was aware of it. Not happy to be in this position. . Lee Chen @MLGLee *To be clear here folks, the Collusion had nothing to do with the ARAM. CRS/DIG conspired to split prize money. http://mlg.to/SFulSk * . Adam Apicella @MrMLGAdam MLG will award the full prize money ($40,000) to teams ranked 3, 4, 5, 6. . Adam Apicella @MrMLGAdam @ChaosCrazed Witnesses and the teams confirmed when confronted.
Again, Elementz apologizing for the ARAM. Match fixing or pot splitting was not brought up.
So what did MLG actually dq these 2 teams for? It obviously wasn't the ARAM so was it pot splitting or match fixing? They seemed to be really vague about that and it's making me very pissed at MLG.
The first comment on that specifies that it was from before they were disqualified and was purely about the ARAM.
Match fixing is EXTREMELY unlikely. I don't see how that could be even considered. Upon thinking about it more I honestly don't think they would split the pot either and I think there has to be some misinformation that was given or somebody stretching the truth especially considering all the conflicting information that has been given. For them to split the pot the team management would have needed to be involved, and it just seems highly unlikely honestly. I think the ARAM just pissed a lot of people off to the point where assumptions were made and it forced a quick reaction by MLG based upon incomplete information. It honestly just makes no sense for them to split the pot AND agree to play an ARAM. I can see one or the other, but not both.

Well two of those can be removed since they're just opinions on things, I think the MLG ones are most important.
Also how the hell do you sign up for LoL?
I've been trying to find a sign up link on their main NA page forever T.T
Please ban these players for life. Honestly so disgusting. You're expected to play every game your hardest, a die standing than live on your knees mentality. I don't know how you can be a pro gamer and then do this.

Little extreme there.
So far I think its just a case of MLG sending out a reminder to players in the future for the sake of professionalism and that potential pot sharing is not cool with them.
I do not think they tried to match fix. I think they did what curse just said in that video: They agreed to an ARAM game to change things up and for funsies for game 1. Pot sharing is also possible. For these two breaking of the rules (and potential breaking in the case of the latter) the sanctions imposed is fine. I very much do not believe they were doing anything of a sinister nature (throwing games for a predetermined winner) so the matter imo should end and no further punishment should be issued unless they were in fact fixing the finals.

This is a one off event in which they both apparently apologized immediately and had no malicious intent whatsoever. Your idea is extreme.

What sAviOr did is unforgivable and he had such malicious intent that was crazy.
This is just insane, I want -hard- evidence. I don't want some joke tweets I want someone with a audio or video recording saying "Here it is the smoking gun". I am sorry but I don't see Dignitas trying to matchfix and throw games. Dignitas has always been a fairly serious team, lead by a pretty serious CEO who will strait up bring the hammer of Thor down on anyone who messes with the image of Team Dignitas has he not? So why would they risk that kind of hammerfall?
At least Curse you can kind of make a case that they might do something but it's shaky ground at best.
As far as I am concerned the ARAM game was funny, it was entertaining and everyone seemed to enjoy it because the game didn't matter. The game didn't matter. It was a throw away game and both teams agreed on doing it. MLG isn't that blind so I am pretty sure someone on that end knew it as well.
Until I see some hard proof someone needs to buy Curse a trophy because they earned it.

What? Your info is a bit off. Pot sharing does NOT equal match fixing. There is no evidence that they attempted to or succeeded in fixing the finals.

Comparing this to that is stupid.
It's actually insulting. What happened with Savior was a scandal that shook Esports forever. This is just a huge misunderstanding that hasn't even been settled yet. Right now what's confirmed is that these 2 teams decided to play an ARAM match, nothing more.

How did the game not matter? It was part of the grand final of a big LAN event, with a big prize-pool at stake. Hundreds of people bought tickets to watch it live, and probably thousands paid to watch it online.
If they had agreed to have a show match ARAM before the final series, that seems perfectly fine. But playing it as part of the series makes a mockery of the tournament and is essentially taunting the crowd.

I don't quite understand how:
(1) Tweets from MLG officials outlining the situation --- in particular confronting the teams and their admission of guilt. (2) Official statement from MLG describing the situation and the outcome. (3) Posts on the LoL board by Redbeard explaining the situation on the Riot end. (4) Public video apology by Curse.
Is not enough evidence to convince you (or others that seem to be unconvinced).
I was one of those that was mad at the players for the ARAM and wanted consequences for it. But even I think this reaction by MLG is over the top. There was obviously no malicious intent by the 2 teams, just stupidity. Imo MLG should have nullified the result of the ARAM and have the players play that game for real. And maybe they should have withheld a portion of the prize money, like 10%. That would have been enough as a warning for any other team to not repeat this.
Apart from that, the games did not look like matchfixing, as in predetermining the winner, at all. If both teams had not tried to win, they would not have played so extremely cautios (even timid sometimes), timed buffs so well, would have picked more wildly etc. We have seen nonserious games before, and that was not it.

Next week is a qualifier for a tournament with a $3 million prize pool. This tournament was like $2,000 dollars for first? And there was zero chance either team would not make it to regional qualifiers regardless of the outcome.
The money they made at MLG likely could've been made as a team by streaming Friday-Sunday in their homes. Especially after you consider the cost of travel and expenses while there.
edit: Curse has already denied the allegations. Redbeard claims there was match fixing. MLG claims the teams were conspiring to share the prize pool. We've heard two different stories from the same side. Anyone who believes anything 100% right now is jumping the gun.
