Aside from that, I imagine organising travel and the actual tournament would take a lot of time and money (denting the winnings) and they'd probably rather take the five~ days of practice and a free look at other teams over that from a practice point of view. After their loss to Blaze, they know they need to improve to compete for first place. With all the investment in the $2,000,000 finals, this probably makes the most sense to them. I mean you could probably think up other reasons - being able to watch every game as a group could teach them things and so on.

From a spectator point of view it's quite interesting. While it's always a shame to not see the best teams at events (Team X isn't that good, CLG & TSM weren't there), this really opens it up for other teams to show what they're made of and get a shot at some cash, fame and confidence that they might not otherwise get. We might see some new faces, unusual strats or weird picks/bans.

It's also odd to see so many subs in. This is the most important tournament for a bunch of these teams, there must be a very good reason for why they can't go.
