A good start it to look at the standard build you go on yada-yada champion, and think about why you get every item. I'll give an example with a standard adc build: i agree with this, most of the time what items you build doesn't matter too much so just experiment and figure out which ones work better and which ones don't
generally speaking just look at the stats that you need first then decide which item that gives you that stat or combination of stats is appropriate for the situation and run with it for a game or 2

Where can I post a thread to look for people to form a team for league?
*edit: nvm I found it

Naturally someone more learned and experienced has already done a lot of thinking about the subject and if you get an opportunity to read their thoughts while trying to understand them, not just copy their builds, it would fast track your own learning. The best guides, like pantheon and fizz here, will give multiple item choices for late game and explain when they work best. I find the champion threads here great to discuss when they are active. Ultimately a good way is to look at many guides and understand them instead of copying them, don't take what people say as fact but read their justification and understand it and apply your new knowledge to making more informed decisions every game.

Yes it doesn't, which is why I offered him that if he has any specific questions (scenarios from a game he just played), then he can post them here, and someone can answer them. But to have someone spoon feed you all the scenarios is not the right way, LoL is far too versatile for you to depend on one build. The small things don't make a big difference alone, but it all adds up and general knowledge will help you become a better player.

This seems like a simple thing, but I can't seem to find an answer with google.
I know if I smite the Krug, I get the heavy hands bonus. Do I get that bonus if I just straight up kill it without smite?

The Gift of Heavy Hands Smite bonus can only be obtained by smiting the Ancient Krug.
Use the Wikia.

Hi everyone.
Im sure many people agree with me when I say I like to watch replays of myself to improve myself.
As we all know unfortunately, Riot STILL does not have a recording/replay system.
After doing tons of research I know there are 3 main ones:
-baronreplays -lolreplay -op.gg
Could someone tell me what is the most stable/reliable recording software for league of legends? It is so hard to find one -.- lolreplay has a reputation of being buggy. Baron , same as lolreplay, does not seem to work for the new SR map. OP.gg seems decent but does not always work when I click "record"
What do you use for recording your matches?

This isn't really a simple question, but I'm so confused about my last game. Don't really know what I could have done differently. For background, last Season I ended in Gold 3 having played like 50 games and this was my 9th placement match in this one.
Link to the match details
Wish I had a replay. We laned for like 22 minutes with no Dragon attempts from either side (they could've tried like three times but they didn't and we took the 1st one I don't even know when). I got Trinity and Graves IE and we just kept laning until I just backed and they took the tower. He initially had a 20cs advantage (maybe he csed perfectly and I missed little by little idk) and from there on the game spiralled into a really slow and drawn out grinding game. My Alistar just was in the brush without doing much and he didn't know how to do the combo so we couldn't initiate so I just farmed.
In teamfights I was just zoned out by Fizz and Shaco, and Garen played very well as their tank while our Gnar built too much damage. I tried to do as much damage as I could but I couldn't really reach the squishies and Garen was impossible to take down.
The kind of help I'm asking for is about what to do in those bronzie-like situations in which everybody is still laning at like 20 mins. I really feel like I couldn't have done anything differently, except trying to go more aggressive in teamfights but I don't think that would have ended well.

Yes, that wold help far more than those raw stats. I would just forget about this game, and then use op.gg or self record your next games so that we can help you more.
Based on the stats I do see, here are some things I can guess at:
- You have quite low cs for a 44 minute game. You were losing and probably stuck in base, but this has a big impact on the game, you're still lv 17. Graves has a ton of cs, he was most likely lv 18 a good 5 minutes before you were 17, if not more. Those are advantages that win games. The truth is you have to find ways to keep up in cs reasonably, while not putting yourself into too much danger and not giving up too many objectives. - If you were 20 cs behind in the laning phase, you have to ask yourself why. One of the best ways to win games is to just naturally win your lane. Ofc it's not always possible, but if you have a natural tendency to win games in an elo, you will rise. -Try to avoid having a 20 minute laning phase if it's a stalemate: if you can push hard, take their tower and roam for free objectives, it helps prevent other lanes from endlessly snowballing due to feeding (that Fizz had the potential to carry so hard lol, he was 3-0 at the 10 minute mark), especially at your elo range don't have any map awareness. -When behind, try to roam before the enemy picks off every front tower and begins to group up.
And some more personally biased tips: - Ban Gnar. Not only does having to play against a good one suck, but it reduces the risk of having an idiot on your team play him. He didn't seem to be doing too badly, but your Gnar appears to have had 0 impact on the game. Your team had a very strong combo in Ori ult and Gnar ult, but it does not appear that it ever occurred, and he was therefore not a good pick. And ppl who build Triforce BoTRK on him when severely behind should be banned. Your whole team bought items to suit themselves, Garen was probably tankier than both Udyr and Gnar put together, and Graves would've shot through them like butter with a LW. -I don't like Alistar for the same reason. He has the potential to do great, but I rarely see anyone play him at a decent level. Ali is a strong roaming champion, but he sucks in lane if you just play passively with him. And when behind, you don't go for Randuins second item, you build cheap defense items that help your team, like Locket or god forbid, a Mikaels so that Fizz someone can survive a Fizz-Graves combo. Don't ban him, but be aware that when you have an Ali on your team, that you may be forced to just passive farm 1vs2. - There are three champions that I would not like to see in Gold on your team because they require knowledge that does not exist often in Gold (Ori, Ali, Gnar), and I think their scores prove that they couldn't play them at a sufficient level.
Those are just some thoughts, but tbh, the fact that you don't have a replay means that there's not much to be done to help you. Move on and just go into the next game positively.

What do you use for recording your matches? I used to use baronreplay but it bugged out giving me an error, I tried to fix it but to no avail, When it worked for me it was very good though so I do recommend it. Lolreplay crashes your game and is horrible in general. Op.GG is good but occasionally doesn't work so I don't recommend it.

Really thankful for the analysis DarkCore. I'm going to fix my champion pool for SoloQ, after reading your comment about the "picks I don't like in Gold" and some Lastshadow9 videos it's very clear that I gotta do it. Also really need to work on CSing as I think I do very good but I'm always losing or very little ahead even when I'm killing the other ADC.

I need help in lane phase. I literally feed 1 - 4 kills every lane phase. My team fighting is quite good for my rank, usually allowing me to come back into the game. But I think if I just did better in lane I would completely crush every game. I mostly play ADC, but general laning tips would be appreciated greatly as well!

What runes/masteries are you running? Going 9 defense and flat instead of scaling might help you survive easier

How are you getting killed? Are you being burst-ed down, are you getting caught by a jungler and 2v1ed to death very quickly? Or are you trading back and forth and gradually getting to lowish life and then eventually they kill you?
If its the last one, then a way to die less is to just go back more often. Say, if you get less than 25% you always back and heal up, even if you fell like there are a bunch of minions nearly dead and it would be easy to stay a bit longer and get the CS.

two quick questions. anyone know if the valentines skins are limited time only available if and if so when their available. and are there any guides anywhere to the new jungle?

Many of my deaths come from getting caught by their mid or jungler, but I've had a couple deaths just getting straight up rekt by a graves or something. I think some of it might be the fact that I duo with a diamond support buddy who just carries me in lane, and then when I solo I expect my teammates to be just as skilled, and assume they will do what I want, baiting myself. Maybe I should just play more passive, and try to carry from the midgame rather than trying to completely shutdown the other ADC and make them useless for the rest of the game?
Edit: Thinking back on it, my buddy probably just tells me whenever I'm about to get ganked and I back out in time, but my own gamesense is too poor to expect ganks.

I just can't win no matter what I do in my games, already been demoted once, not planning to go fall even further from grace, so I think I'm going to take a step back and analzye my play a bit.
I was wondering if anyone can go through some of my last game replays (just one is fine), and tell me how I could have carried better. I've already though of some things to do, but tbh it's just so unbelievably frustrating when you are out farming your opponent and don't see the need to make risky plays, while the entire team flames and feeds, and straight up loses the game for me.

Just looking at your match history thats really not what I'm seeing:
8/4/6 loss 1/6/1 loss 4/2/5 win 7/3/11 win 2/8/10 loss 1/4/0 loss 13/9/8 win 3/9/3 loss 1/4/11 loss 5/17/7 loss 2/9/3 loss 1/7/18 loss 5/9/3 loss 6/10/5 loss 1/3/7 win 12/6/15 win 4/8/6 loss
green is good KDA stat and red is poor, black is decent support KDA
As we can see, in your last 17 games you only did statistically well and counldn't carry and lost once (last game LB), counterbalanced by a statistically poor win (not actually that bad but not great for an ADC) where you were carried.
In every other example you got a good KDA and won, or got a poor one and lost. So your perception of being well ahead and being unable to carry doesn't really seem accurate. As for factors not appearing in KD, your CS numbers are also not drastically ahead of your opponents. You probably need to look more at your performance in lane. Your last two games were shitty and everyone fed, which is bad luck, but don't let that color your perception of your history too much.
