Goddamn but that Riven skin though I like it all but skarner. Skarner don't make sense.
It's like the Fiora change. They had this cool mini game idea then base the whole champion around this mechanic. I'd compare it to Ori/Azir but their mechanic is far less gimmicky

Item rework Null magic being cheaper is a very welcome change.
Aegis build is much nicer and cheaper, pure pazzak. Sucks about legion getting nerfed, but I'll get over it.
Locket just went full Riven in balance's eyes.
Banner... what a garbage item. =^)
SV/BV changes are solid.
Cinderhulk is... interesting? changes are shit, they don't actually buff AP Ekko, which is weak, just hurt his only viable build. It won't drive people to build AP on him, it will drive them to play other champions who are better Passive buffed AP ratio and reduced utility. W nerfed base damage and almost doubled AP ratio. R cut base health recovery and doubled the AP ratio to it. Yeah, don't see how these don't promote AP on him. PBE stuffsWell, time to give Riot more money for the Riven skin. Oh, and Riot finally broke down and made schoolgirl Ahri. lol
They aren't enough to make AP Ekko good, thats the issue.
1. Passive .1 AP buff, unfortunately inconsequential, especially early and midgame.
2. Shield ratio just doesn't matter very much, the shield has always been really really big, you almost never get burst through it, its duration is its weakness. Buffing its strength rarely ever matters.
3. The heal is kind of funny, as AP ekko still get way less out of it than tank, because he has less health, his health is less valuable (armor/MR), and he simply can't take nearly four seconds of damage. AP Ekko usually either explodes someone, takes minimal damage, and gets out, or has to panic ult out, or dies in less than two seconds. In none of those situations is a percent heal of 50 of one seconds taken damage very useful. Your health bar is too small and volatile to sit around and try bait out damage and ult at the last second or something.
in short its not enough to make AP Ekko even really noticeably better, he needs something else. Maybe a mana cost reduction on Q would help him spam it and get farm safely, as he has much worse mana issue in lane than jungle. Of course that could make skirmishers viable in the jungle. Maybe it gives him some mana back if he hits a champion.

All size increase stack, but there is a maximum (which Cho has/can hit with potion and/or lulu)

That Titanic Hydra seems fun for Sion. Speaking of Sion, shouldn't he be considered a juggernaut?

Weren't tanks super strong then they nerfed some stuff but they still really strong and now they introducing items to help make them stronger? Am I missing something huge here?

Kind of boring too. I know its supposed to be 8-bit but that's a pretty boring gradient in the coloring.

The first game of Worlds doesn't start until October 1, nearly two months from now. Two months is an eternity in League. Two months ago Ekko and Tahm Kench weren't even out yet, C9 was 1-1, and LeBlanc was a high priority pick/ban in NA LCS.

yo dawg
i herd u liek games
so i put a game in your gage so u can game while you game
This entire "unique champ gameplay" design philosophy is kind of dumb. I feel like it's going to discourage people from learning new champs because each one is like learning how to play a new game. Like, Lee Sin, Elise, etc. were mechanically demanding champs with kits that could do lots of different things depending on your combo order and build. That was pretty cool. Putting these insanely complicated minigames in is lame.

It's not 2 months. You have to factor in playoffs is on another patch then there's just blank period with zero competitive games between playoffs and worlds patch. That's the main issue to me. Worlds format was such that each individual game means so much. If the format was like TI where there's a bunch of group stage games which matter but doesn't eliminate you from anything then having no games on the patch would be ok. As it stands teams basically have to pray their prep work is going the right way then if it isn't they get maybe 2 games leeway to try figure it out. I want to watch the best teams in the world playing at their peak. Not teams fumbling around
Overall it's just kind of a dumb time to make these huge sweeping changes. The only major change they did in a few months was the mage item stuff, there's no real reason why they couldn't have done these changes then

Yea I get what you saying. Instead of creating a kit that can naturally develop into a bunch of really cool mechanical interactions they are making up the mechanical interactions and saying "this is how you play it". It's not really interesting or good design I think.

These changes definitely should be for preseason.

I think they need a better filter though. Some ideas are just meh. This is fine, but it should be done after worlds.
100% agree. This is preseason levels of change.
