Perhaps more impressive than Cloud 9’s victory was the reaction from the LoL community. Immediately after Cloud 9′s win, the audience stood up and began to recite the Pledge of Allegiance as a large American flag was lowered onto the stage by Seal Team Six, headed by General Brian Wyllie. holy shit, my sides. Too fucking funny.

I still can't get over their titlar abbreviation, but that article is Onion-level satire.

I keep seeing this sentiment pop up and I think it's misguided. Riot has made some methods of catching up more effective, but made others much less so. In general, my experience has been that people who try to 5-man to come back (which, to be fair, seems to be the majority of players I encounter, both here and in-game) like this patch, but people who try to dodge fights, spread the map, and trade objectives when behind don't like it at all.
This patch has been really bad for me, to the point I don't even want to play anymore. I know my situation is pretty vastly different from the majority of players, though. I don't ever play in less than a 3-stack, and probably around 70% of the people I play with are a solid 2+ leagues below the rest of us. This puts some really weird dynamics on my games, and I'm fully willing to accept that's why I can't stand this patch. But man, I can't stand this patch.

I hate how unintuitive everything is now, less gold for kills early on, and stuff like scaling gold with Dragon, jungle level with average character level, and ward limits, assist streaks, and what not.

IDK like on paper I hated it, then I played it and I hated it even more, then I started to play it a lot, and I started to like it, I actually don't think it is too comeback friendly, it's a pretty good balance, honestly I just with they would lower gold as a whole a tiny bit (winning or losing) gold seems to cap way too fast and that I do not like.

The problem Wei2cool means is that its all hidden atm. How much is a first blood worth at x minutes. How much is dragon at x. How strong is a jungle camp at a random point in time. These are things that should be obvious and simple to find out to help people play yet there all different atm with no way of knowing.
They changed the towers to show items because of how unintuitive it was and now they added another dozen unintuitive things to the game.

Lowering the overall gold would not be a bad idea. There's so much of it right now for every role.
Overall, mixed feelings about pre-season patch so far. Not liking the vision changes much and the new bushes are weird. Trinkets are fun, if only because it makes others in your team drop wards as well. Definitely not a fan of pinks being visible. While I would like to see overall gold lowered over the course of the game, I'm glad that you get more of it as a support these days. Actually getting the chance to build some items is fun.

I wouldnt mind visible pinks so much if eve didnt exist. The fact you can no longer defend against her really is a major problem when people screw up and dont ban her ><

I don't think the changes are necessarily unintuitive as it is that we've been playing a different game for the past 3 years.

How much is dragon worth at the current moment in time. When do i want to get first blood to get good extra gold ect Its not that its different. Its that its changing values i cant easily ingame.

There clearly needs to be some sort of global counter on things like Dragon scaling and jungle scaling. Also the ICD on tear needs to be displayed, like I know they can do that because they did it on Targons. Why the hell didn't they add that simple functionality in the same patch?

Before kills/assists could be summarized as:
"Kills are worth a baseline of 300 gold, modified by streaks, with a bonus of +100 gold for first blood. Assists are worth 70% of the kill, split amongst all participants."
Now it's:
"Kills are worth a baseline of 300 gold, modified by streaks, with a bonus of +100 gold for first blood. Kills begin at 50% value and scale up to full value between 2 and 4 minutes. Assists are worth 50% of the kill, split amongst all participants, scaling up to 80% value between 20 and 35 minutes. Additionally, players who have at least two more assists than kills earn 15 bonus gold on assists for every assist they have more than their kill count, up to a cap of 60 bonus gold."
How is that not more unintuitive and just "different"?
EDIT: My description didn't even specify on what intervals the kill/assist partial value is updated, or whether the assist bonus gold is calculated before or after the assist is added to your assist count.

ICD on Tear doesn't behave the same way. Tear isn't actually "once every 4 seconds", but "up to 2 times every 8 seconds". That's not as easy to display in an intuitive manner.
