I don't think I'd 100% advocate it on him (I see TF as being his premier damage item), but Lifesteal and the on-hit are not bad things for him at all. | ||

Its true that Poppy beats most melee physical damage dealers in lane, but there are some that just have kits tailored to destroy her. I seem to recall Renekton being one of those champions thinking about it again. Other champions like this are Darius and Olaf (Although Olaf is beatable if you are smart). I would love to see high ranking players test Poppy vs Renekton for confirmation on this though. Poppy vs GP is an easy lane though. Either GP maxes his W and forces a farm lane (Poppy loves free farm) or he maxes Q and dies. Poppy outbursts GP hard, and can disengage pretty much at will, so he needs the sustain to not be bullied. Poppy also beats Pantheon, Tryndamere, Nasus and a few special case AP's like Gragas. Afaik she does okay against someone like Zac or Vi too (not tried or seen it). Zekent is the real authority on Poppy though, so go see his guides. | ||

Poppy's passive does nothing against Darius's bleed or ult and is worthless against an Olaf who puts a few extra points in E. A big part of how Poppy survives in lane is her passive, W, and regen making her immovable since she's so resilient and Darius/Olaf bypass that. Renekton does well against Poppy since he can out-trade her early on and post-6 he does a ton of damage over time with his ult, which Poppy hates. | ||

OK there is seriously no way Poppy beats Nasus, and I have doubts about Tryndamere, but I can't really say because she's so rare I never lane against her. I'm no pro, but I if you wanna I could at least try Trynda and Riven against you. From what little experience I managed to get (mid was playing horrible and they were picking horrible fights facechecking Fiddle jungle at drake so with my dc on top of it they had surrendered by the time I got back), the E cd nerf isn't all that big after a few levels (assuming people fight a bit rather than make it a farmfest), it's mostly in early laning that you can't harass nearly as much since you don't have much incentive to auto (and risk pushing the lane) to reduce the cd. Makes sense with Riot's goal of making Olaf less of a bully and thought of E as lacking counterplay (not that it has much more now, mind you). I felt like I was a bit better at low-health 1v1 (crashed before we got to the teamfighting stage), but that may come from the 2 lifesteal quints on top of W for the sustain. Also, at low level W should be stronger because 20% AS is relatively more dps increase at that point than 12-17 AD. Didn't get quite a feel for the ult because of the lack of teamfights and stuff (and I mostly had to use it to get rid of Fiddle/Orianna trying to gank me through non-warded paths). | ||

That's just a farm lane and Poppy's 100% fine with that. Poppy arguably scales harder than almost anyone in the game due to her ult being absolutely bonkers. | ||
