His attack speed is gonna cause some weirdness with reckless swings. it'll average less than 2 seconds as a cooldown when he's low and during vicious strikes.

Of course, he's melee, so it's not really directly comparable

Another thing is that Olaf's base AS is 0.694, that's top 5 material here (tied with champs like Mordekaiser, Maokai, Akali and Shaco hue), so every single % helps him more than it does a bunch of champions. And Teut suggests ghostblade because on top of the MS from the active, brutaliser is a cheap source of CDR (you want to cap it, remember?) that he'll need since he advocates randuin's over FH. You won't have enough HP if you stack SV and FH for CDR, so you have to make compromises. Building brutaliser into tank, then finishing ghostblade when the big teamfights start should be somewhat doable in lane, what with Renekton doing similar stuff (and they were poster childs of the health-stacking meta and 1v2 at the start of s3 so I'd wager they're similar enough), and it gives you some damage and CDR compared to full tank (which is nerfed with the changes) while not making you spend 3-4k on offensive itemisation because Olaf needs defenses.
Plus I'm sure Teut would run 10% CDR with his glyphs on such a champ.
Tried Olaf in a custom to check how the new hotkeys menu work, I have to say, even though Smash pointed out that when throwing an axe at minimal distance you wouldn't have to walk much to pick it up, I didn't expect it to be so short, people really overreacted on the feedback thread when they learnt about it. The E cd increase you can def. feel, it's still a 33% increase even at level 1 if you don't auto in between.
Also the new projectile particles from the caster minions feel so weird, it... "slows" the pace in a way. Well I know it doesn't, but it really feels like it, that's weird. I'll get used to it.

Wait, did the patch actually go this morning?

Tristana is still the champ to beat in terms of raw AS, Jinx's base AS and AS growths are too low despite having a ridiculous steroid
Tristana: 4%/lvl + 90% = +162% at level 18 0.656 base AS 1.72 AS @ lvl 18 with Q on
Olaf 2.4%/lvl + 80% + X% based on missing hp = +123+X% at level 18 0.694 base AS 1.54 + 0.00694*X AS @ lvl 18 with W on
Olaf needs 24.6% missing health to have more AS than tristana (both with steroids up). Of course, anyone who lets you sit there autoattacking as a melee is a fool, but....

Yes, it took like 15 minutes on my shitty internet at like 6 am too. So IDK what its going to be like at peek. But it is live with all its changes, and omg new olaf is scurry. Triforce/wits is like mega damage.

The thought process is you get hydra to help you split push rather than team fight. similar to shen picking up stattik or sunfire.

Cassiopeia is now gamebreakingly overpowered riot pls remove from game snakes suck

Yeah I know, I already posted a few pages back about Hydra > Triforce for splitpushing, esp. with his shitty mana pool. Just gotta try it out now.

iirc though (and I suck at mid so don't quote me), Cass shouldn't be too strong in the assassin mid meta, as they're pretty good against her.

all the 3 olaf's I had in my game so far were very underwhelming, one didnt even manage to get a tower after shen ulted 3 times the first 15minutes.
Also the new caster minion particle is fucking with my head, missed ton of free cs already.

Correct, Cassio should not survive well in assassin meta.
That's not to say she is 100% useless, but if the enemy is playing right, she can be relatively nullified.

Great, cuz I definitely needed more trouble last hitting...

Oh I dunno, how strong is an assassin after a face full of petrifying stare?
|
So pretty much I'm still building Olaf as the same?
Emphasis on tanky+ CDR with 1 damage item (BC/Ghostglade/TF)? These numbers on Olaf's AS looks interesting, although I'd feel too squishy building 2 damage items unless I was ridiculously ahead.
Edit: Oh splitpush all day Olaf with Hydra sounds great.

How much windup does it have? Because I can see at least Zed and Fizz just being all "Nope," then Ahri does the same thing if she's skilled (foxdodge)

I volunteer for either role - Diamond 1 and played both champions extensively.

Cass ult is actually fairly easy to dodge the stun just by turning away when it's just a 1v1 or skirmish situation (this is coming from a former Cass main). The true power comes in the chaos of team fights and more CC from the rest of your team. That's not to say that you can't land the stun, but if your opponent expects it, it's hard to hit.
Anyone with above average mobility (see: current meta) should do just fine at avoiding most of Cass's damage.
