I think Morde does counter Zed in lane, but vs Fizz/Ahri might be a toss-up.
Fizz could trade him I think. Ahri kind of needs to spam her skills, or pull a faker with your 9.1 cs/min and get a fast morellonomicon or something.
The biggest counter to morde is the jungler. Ahri, Fizz, and Zed all have strong damage and all in potential. Morde has zero escape and is forced to push at melee range meaning he'll be overextending quite a bit. In a direct 1 on 1 morde is difficult to deal with, but he's really easy to kill with any of those champions before 6 and especially at 6.
Morde vs. Fizz is pretty nuanced, in most cases that you will encounter it's pretty easy because dumb players run when you engage them, but if he stands his ground in the middle of the creepwave he will kill you on even items.
best way to approach the match up I've found is to try to trade him at level 1 as he walks into lane this will give him the false impression that you outdamage him as he won't yet have a shield and the damage he does to you with rank1 E and no items will barely outrade the skills cost. If this mindgame works it's the easiest lane ever as he will just E and run every time you Q to him, but if he dosen't buy it and stands next to a healthy creep wave, you will lose until you have an item advantage.
Try to re establish dominance anytime he comes from base by engaging him as soon as he walks into lane but isn't by the creep yet. if your naked damage didn't scare him at level 1, your dorans damage will scare the bejeesus out of him if you combo him away from the creeps, even with revolver you will wreck him. It's all about the message if you can get him to belive he can't outtrade you because you are just straight up stronger the lane is a joke, if he abuses his passive it can be rough.

I feel like Morde is a complete counter to Fizz.
Morde can beat fizz hard 1v1 but any morde vs assassin match up will just be the jungler camping morde and the assassin snowballing off it.

I checked the wiki for morde as I was reading this, and then I realized I had basically no idea what the mechanics of the ult ghost were. The ghost's AD is the target's lv 1 base AD plus the target's items plus 75% of Morde's AD, and I had thought for the longest time it was just the target's AD.

now you understand the power of funblade mordekaiser also morde gets 20% of the ghost's total AD/AP for himself, and Q has some pretty crazy ratios for spammable aoe
I still think he's better top, where his opponent won't have blue and the enemy jungler has to be farther from dragon to gank him.
not really the crux of the comparison but safe lane is the easiest lane for access to your teams jungle, not unlike mid in lol
(admittedly I think the comparison is weak, but you can use his farming efficiency to build up an item lead on the other players in the game, it's without a doubt one of his strengths)
Urgh. My ISP just dc'd me (no problems all day, dc minute 3 of the first game I start --"), and after the reconnect a host of bugs started. Amumu and Lux would entirely miss me with their skillshots (and I juked even farther out most of the time) (only Lux's E actually, her Q seemed to appear normally) but I'd still get hit, so it was probably on my end with the spells' particle being misplaced. Creeps' HP bars would be messed up too. People all appeared level 1 to me (even those I saw higher before the dc) until they leveled, at what point they suddenly jumped to 4-5.
First time I get this, is that common? Afaik the main dc bug was the "phantom minions" and the clogged minimap and those were fixed awhile back.
Can't seem to be able to join queue after that game, I don't get the pop-up, only a "game already in champ select, you can't leave queue now!" when I try to cancel the search for a game. I assume it's another bug due to my dc, so I try to reconnect, and there's a login queue. I'm guessing EUW is borked again.
Confirmed; same bug here on EUW. I was queued for a good 10 minutes, I totally forgot about and when I tried to cancel the queue it told me the exact same thing.

This explains how a Trundle who should have been behind me on levels hit 6 before I did when I was Vlad a few days back. I was like "how the efff did he hit 6 before me." and he seemed to be relatively even with me in levels despite the fact I accrued a 40 cs advantage at one point by shoving him out of lane. I figured he was off killing wolves or something with his time, but this makes a lot more sense.
I don't get all the just camp morde statements. Sure it works, but any decent morde buys a ward to begin with and can easily ward one side of the river and almost hug that side and for the most part be safe. Especially since all these assassins you guys are taking about have no hard CC (minus ahri charm) which means it's going to be especially difficult to get a gank off.
