Yeah my question meant "how did the thread swing?". Maybe I'm just too used to borefests from LCS EU, CLG.EU in s2, or yesterday's game, but the stalling with fountain hook seemed way more entertaining (and possibly interesting in game, but I guess I'm underestimating how big a role the lack of vision in DotA plays there).
My pet peeves with the DotA spectating is that I can't easily see who's got which items, the different heroes' levels and which player is playing which hero unless they're appearing on screen (when compared to LoL). Also total gold and towers. The gold and exp graphs are pretty neat though. But when trying to understand the hype from casters and stuff, being unable to link a hero to a player by just looking at the screen can be disconcerting.

There was a lot of hype at the time but it didn't take long for the complainers to come out.

The casters have been pretty bad about checking items and xp then showing that to the players. If you watch ingame you will most likely get an easier picture to understand. In general dota casters aren't really that great I feel. They all kind of Riv clones with maybe a little less gibberish in there. Synderen when he casted would be like a Monte but he decided to focus on playing instead :<

Is it always so low kill with these teams.

On August 10 2013 12:25 ExoFun wrote: Is it always so low kill with these teams. not at all, this is just a certain playstyle that is called 'rat dota' where you just dodge fights constantly while slowly chipping away at towers with a team that has extremely high mobility and push power such as natures prophet and anti mage in this game, securing a good late game and money advantage on their ad carry equivalents

It's basically a dota version of 3-1-1 with shit like shen+zed in your sidelanes being douchebags and running away if you try to do anything involving more than 1 person. (It's also far older, of course.)

Why is the vlad guy with the orbs not being played anymore?
|
Wait, does the in client spectating of ti3 include commentary?
|
his base damage got lowered by a large amount so he cant do well in mid lane anymore compared with other mids, and a core item (force staff) got changed so that it lowered his damage output by a significant amount

Specifically, his auto attacks do way less damage. It's problematic because he's a very level dependent hero so is almost always sent mid alone, where he now has a much more difficult time trading with the opponents.

On the other hand though, it's a very heavy file if you want to watch the replays because it basically download all the version of commentary (english, russian, chinese.v.dvas.dv.) and the game.

Yes. I watch streams because the client audio lags for me, but it's pretty sweet otherwise.

In-client spectating (not just for TI3 but for most tournaments) usually includes commentary and you can get different languages if they are offered.
RIOT WHERE'S OFFICIAL REPLAYS?
I have to say that I really like the festive feeling of TI3 and all the little things like fantasy teams and what not. I'm hoping Riot learns from this and makes worlds a little more interactive.
