also that ipl5 game was played on elise patch, before S3 changes, heh. I don't understand how a skill that preys on the enemy's positioning errors super hard is a *worse* pub skill than in competitive. Because pubs are also worse at judging what is a positioning error. So I went on the PBE to see the new Anivia skin and the Q is misaligned. As in, if you were to press space and cast it upwards perfectly, it comes out looking like its about 100 units (1 teemo) to the left. I really hope they fix that, I hate playing against Anivia enough as is. >_<

Not just that, how many time does a TF ult in from mid to top get a goldcard off while his laner merrily farms at or near tower? Same with botlane, except there it is sometimes more disastrous and goes like this:
Ult>Stun>Cards "Where is my lane!" TF killed 2v1>Support engages killed 2v1>AD notices>engages dies 2v1.

Talking about just TF? 1v1ing Kha'Zix is entirely viable if you can oneshot him though, and if he's building full dmg like all pubs do(and imo should), it's really not that farfetched of an idea. Maybe not from full but at like 60% Kha'Zix is totally viable for being 1v1'd by TF.
If we're just talking in general, Kha'Zix gets beat in 1v1 by numerous things, mainly anything that builds armor or Diana.
|
Zed also dumps on Kha'Zix if he plays well using the shadows the dodge spikes, and ult to counteract the leap.

I had written "him" originally but switched to Kha'Zix to give an example (since your standard pub won't get fed and as such won't ever be able to 100-0 anyone). The more I watch competitive LoL in NA/EU (tbh the main reason I don't watch Korean/Chinese is because we don't always have a time in the op and I'm lazy... ), the more I kinda wish we had more bans and suddely players were unable to pick a good slew of the popular champions, just to see if it could mean we'd see some of them competitively again. + Show Spoiler +Veigar, Zilean, Fiddlesticks, Morgana, Alistar, Ashe, Annie, Brand, Rammus, Janna*, Malphite*, Mundo, Gragas*, Mordekaiser, Kennen, Malzahar, Galio*, Swain, Shyvana, Ahri, Zyra * I know some players tend to pick them but... one player isn't much in a scene. Obviously some of some have had more appearances and more recently than some others (namely Zyra, Ahri, Ashe, Janna) but still not much compared to some others.
Mid's probably the lane the most afflicted by this. But with the combination of power creep, mobility creep, and the lane swaps/more aggressive early game/shorter laning phase that has developed in the meta it seems like if you don't have good damage+wave clear+hard cc+utility you aren't eligible to go mid as an AP champ, unless you have an overwhelming strength in one of those domains (like Kass' damage+mobility for his waveclear, Kayle's utility for her hard cc, Kha'Zix damage+clear for pre-6 weakness + lack of hard cc, etc.). Meh. :< How strong would they need to make Brand or Swain for example, so that he gets looked at by pro teams?
|
Swain doesn't need to be any stronger, and Brand needs a new ulti because his current one is buggy and can be screwed over by RNG.

Dig using Lambo today instead of Crumbzz. I really hope he's okay. So far it just sounds like he's unavailabe.

I wish NA coaches had any amount of prominence at all.
Where do I sign up?

Swain's main issue is that he's one of the hardest snowballing mids - in both directions.
When he gets ahead, even if they jungler comes a well placed nevermove+ult form will basically render him invulnerable. He'll have the survivability of a bruiser with the damage of an AP carry.
When he gets behind and can't heal off harass, he becomes pretty trash in laning because of short range. Also he has trouble farming quickly until midgame when nevermove gets low enough CD and enough damage to clear waves with ulti efficiently.

The KR Coach list is pretty stacked, while on the other hand I don't think NA even have enough people to even warrant a vote. For NA teams, often the person who holds the manager role is also responsible for everything else from PR to sponsorship to scrims to just babysitting them. Not to mention the fact I doubt many of the managers even have the necessary knowledge to even properly coach their team.
It sounds harsh to say, but there's more to even just in-game knowledge that many of them lack (which I would argue many of them do lack). Even things as basic as sorting out communication, enforcing discipline, ensuring good hotkey habits and map awareness are so important. Even in Starcraft, one of the first thing coaches do is to ensure flawless mechanical fundamentals which means so much. It's quite disappointing.
At the same time though, it's understandable. There's very few people who would even be an effective coach but at the same time a coach is not a very good job to have. Your security is completely based on your team's performance, it's a lot of hard work for questionable reward, few people look up to coaches and if you're that good why not just form a team yourself?

Didn't Dig have a player with health issues before? I think it was dominate?

http://www.reignofgaming.net/news/23886-skin-rp-price-changes They're making a 750RP skin tier and also making the 1350RP tier a real thing.
Bottom line is if you want Arcade Sona for 975RP you should buy her now. Unless you wait for her to get moved to 1350RP, then get put on sale, which would put the price at 675RP! Hmmm....

Good news, I have FB irelia, battlecast urgot and tyrant swain already. Don't think I'd get any other ones except maybe warring kingdoms.

The Reddit thread is QQ-ing so hard about the price increases. I can only imagine how bad it is on the official Riot forums.
