My recollection was that they randomized the pick order of all but the first pick so that people wouldn't bitch about ELO during picks. Duos that are very close will almost always get 4th+5th due to the MMR matchmaking bonus they get for being duo queued. This is ranked only, not normal drafts.

She has silly burst damage, but it comes in the form of utility, allowing her to either pick off squishies if she lands her whole combo as well as allow her to sit back and defend her carry against the top+mid with 4k health from diving on them. Very optimal pick, with Kayle being nearly the exact same thing as she is, just with a different form of damage. With that said, I wouldn't be too surprised if she came back into favor if aoe comps came back. I still remember from WCG waaaaaay back in 2011 where that Poland team ran GP+Kennen+Morgana+Nunu and then Vayne. They just played protect the Vayne with their ults and constant cc, allowing Vayne to pick them off as they got to her. Canada couldn't do a damn thing about the sheer amount of cc they had. I've wanted aoe to come back into favor, as it is the ultimate way to counter dive comps. in teamfights, morgana has a hard initiate with flash+ult and lux doesn't have that. also black shield prevents cc, lux's shield doesn't. i'm not saying that to say "OOOH YOU'RE WRONG" but i just think she has different utility that can be considered in some comps. and you are probably right that lux fits more comps. i just wish people would think of how to mix and match heroes instead of thinking which ones are OP. i just wish people would think of how to mix and match heroes instead of thinking which ones are OP. Id love to see this. That being said, @ Silver level people dont even bother to learn champions, they play the "op ones" (even I did it, ashamed to say), half-ass them and win 3-4 games. Then they stop winning with them, pick a new one, and rinse/repeat. And Im pretty sure that happens at higher Elo as well. People would have to start objectively looking at champions instead of doing that.

Leona is 50/50. Her ulti is amazing, but her EQ needs followup or you're just dead. Now Thresh, that's a support that can carry.

Maybe it's because I run MPen Marks/Movespeed Quints? But I don't think so. I've played Akali game after game with dismal performance every time. I seriously give up. I hate this champ, I think she's trash tier, and nothing will change my mind short of a Korean using it in a tournament. It seems to me like playing Akali is an excuse for another player to throw pinks in the lane (I know some who've bought 5 pinks in under 15 minutes against me), destroy you in exchanges, and then trash talk you. Because that's always what happens.

Yeah, Thresh has so much damn control over with all his cc. Leona though, is probably more like 70/30, where if you teammate isnt braindead then you can play out her lane - or you farm out the lane and then destroy face with your ult in teamfights.

Always saw him as a "counter" to Taric. Strong counter-engage as well as better late game presence(dat cc).

I would like alistar against like lulu or sona. breaks CC and shrugs off their harass and can engage at will

She has, though, been picked in the LCS quite a few times and carried real hard. Her lategame is so intimidating that if you even get out of lane not super far behind. Ive seen westrice also immediately go for lane ganks after 6, even playing from top. Id watch him, wings, and any other serious top laner- Im pretty sure everyone has picked her up. And I know those feels - Ahri is obnoxiously difficult for me - and for all of my work into her I still dont feel like playing her in ranked. I waste my ult 1nce I am useless in teamfights. Mid/lategame I dont know how to exploit charm, and 3000 hp bruisers ignore my damage. So depresssing >.>

And everyone knows they'll always be better than us. I guess there's nothing left to do but root against Akali players lol. I dunno, Top or Mid I don't see her doing well against opponents who will readily throw down pinks to ruin your day.

I think they've actually made him strong enough to be played as a very legit top.

Strong counter-engage as well as better late game presence(dat cc). Because he got nerfed (to stop him from jungle). People had stopped playing him support because he was better in the jungle, and then after he left, Taric was left as the dominant tank support (I mean really hes been op for the longest time). Then s3 started and noone picked him up again.
