Kinda exactly how I feel. One bad day and you drop a tier or two and it feels so difficult to get back to where you were.

When you're at a point that you're winning 2 pts a game and losing 20 pts a loss, its because according to your Elo you are lower than the game wants you to be in league ranking. So you have to win a bunch of games to bring Elo up first.

what's odd about the points is that when i was in div 1 to promotion i got 26-29 points every game per win and i was expecting a shit ton more games. i was even at 93 points and hit 100 to get into the series
also... does anyone know how pick order works? it doesn't seem to be points but i was above a diamond 2 player the other day when i was plat 1

pick order was randomized, I thought, last season in one of the patches. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

This one was for normals only. It was implemented at the same point where they removed the queuing pick advantage since people who were queuing alone were basically never getting to first pick.

Elo is still there, there're just the cosmetic tiers and League Points, and the hidden Elo system governing the matchmaking. So apart from the fact that there's no one true Elo hell, assuming you'd be in one it's exactly the same thing as before since your LP gains aren't precisely correlated to Elo gains.
I should've clarified myself more. It's comparitively harder to actually progress through leagues (ie bronze to silver) but it is easier to track your progress that you've made and it looks cosmetically appealing to players who don't care (even though these players shouldn't be playing ranked)
Oh and ELO hell definitely does exist.

That's fine. I can provide plenty of anecdotal experience that ELO hell exists. Regardless if people does not think it does.
Even still, that is irrelevant and is not the point I was trying to make

As I recall that's the other part of the change they made. Duo queues are always first and last, but that doesn't mean the middle picks are by ELO. My recollection was that they randomized the pick order of all but the first pick so that people wouldn't bitch about ELO during picks.

No, pick order was highest to lowest in S2. 99% sure. Also, duo's weren't necessarily first and last if they were close in elo (personally experienced)

Anecdotal experience != proof.

You could get out of Elo hell if you built more gold per 10 items, played tanks instead of bruisers, and took AD reds instead of ARP.
Piece of cake.

yeah duos werent always first and last only if huge elo gap te closer the elo more chance of not being 1st last hence the order goes by elo
