No matter how popular it gets, I have a hard time believing the public masses would accept video games as a sport on the same level as football or baseball.

I've had reasonable success with Shen, Jax, and Garen. I mean, she still pushes them out of lane super easily, but you can farm well enough that you can stack MR and just survive laning without getting absolutely mauled. Shen is probably the strongest out of those. Also, I can verify the fact that Vlad is horrific against her. At least with normal runes.

If they increased early level health regen from items like Philo, then elise wouldn't be as big of a problem.

Beck also notes that League of Legends and StarCraft were considered for the 2016 Olympics — “they were talking about it” — and he’s confident Riot Games has stepped up to that necessary next level for Season 3. Did anyone else react to it? On January 31 2013 07:35 Slayer91 wrote: Pantheons teamfighting is kinda strong if you know what you're doing. His E is crazy, and his ult lets you set up an initiate as well. Elise has a kit thats great for harassing down and then finishing off targets, but for straight up fights she doesn't really work that well. It's dumb to compare nidalee who has massive scaling on a huge range nuke to elise with a shitty short range current hp based nuke and a skillshot stun. She has her homing spider tho that's kinda annoying Yeah that's why I compared to Panth: Q is spammable and very strong in lane, but you lose that aspect in teamfights because the second who walk up to Q somebody any skillshot and most click'n'point are able to hit you (even ranged champ's autos since the animation isn't instant or anything). Have a spell like Seismic Shard or Rune Prison hit you, or a MF tag you with red buff, and you set up an initiation for them. It's kinda the same for Elise, 'cept with 50 more range and a quicker animation but still not enough. Panth can initiate and blow up people with enough damage, but past some point you'll get cc'd as soon as you W in or start E and blow up (seriously, Elise in spider form is innately tankier than Panth... ), I was referring more to that part, past 20-30 minutes, where you can't just rush in anymore and have to use more "finesse" in your playstyle as Panth. Shen is probably the strongest out of those. She smashed my MR blues/quints 9-21-0 Jax starting flask. I decided I had enough MR from that and rushed a vamp scepter to try and sustain between hits, didn't work well (can't "sustain" when everytime you're in range to hit something you take a QW to the face, I mean even Pantheon and Wukong run oom in due time, and Talon actually has cooldowns), so I should have added a negatron on top of that (forgoing the vamp), relied on health pots for the sustain and just pushed to tower, backed, and repeat all day?

I realize that might seem like extreme overkill, but most Elises get haunting guise, so you really have to get a lot of mr or you're just going to get wrecked. I mean, even on Garen I go triple null magic mantles and turn that into merc treads/bulwark. I think that speaks volumes about how obnoxious she is.

What gives me the most trouble with Ryze currently is toggling Muramana. Don't have enough practice with it, I end up letting in on when I farm between fights, and forgetting to turn it back on when a teamfight erupts suddenly. Makes for some unreliable performances. x)

in the one game i played with sylverfyre, swim told me to go sorc's > warmogs > guise instead of sorc's > guise > warmogs and it's been working really well, in lane or jungle it's a better build up and guise starts to wreck in midgame fights when you pick it up. biggest mistakes i've seen and made are trying to initiate , or going in too early with spiderform venomous bite. even with mogs/rylai's you're not THAT tanky, and you give up a lot of neurotoxin damage when you go in like that. it does take some experience knowing when you're supposed to wreck face with spider and when you're supposed to hang back in human.

Then got blue's after blues. Very impressive that he's able to abuse his early advantage with someone like Ryze, who's pretty vulnerable to ganks.

On a somewhat related note, I'm really liking Voyboy's stream because he always focuses on his own play and how he could've played things differently rather than deflect blame on his teammates. Like his jungler comes for a bad gank and gets them killed, he might make a quick comment about how maybe this wasn't the best gank ever but he will focus a lot more on his own positioning and use of his cooldowns, which is refreshing to hear on a league stream.

The general consensus of the thread (and I agree with it) is that SC and League don't really belong in the Olympics, as I believe that the point of the Olympics is to celebrate the physical feats of strength and skill of human beings, which isn't really the point of esports.
