Not sure how you'd do it but I like meta breaking things like that. Or a jungler who ganks by supporting the other laner, with mostly buffs and such. A champ who could destroy jungle trees or maybe have like a portal ability that could let other champs walk through walls would be real interesting.[/QUOTE] Yeah, I could imagine the sick plays/escapes that could be made with a mechanic like this. I think with stuff like Thresh lantern they're headed in a good direction though. As for pet control, just have it behave similar to Shaco clone for movement. Somehow incorporate bonuses if you hit a skillshot on them and your pet attacks the champ after, a la Brand.

You won't get the sick blocks or cool moves you get in other games so it will just be lackluster always. I dunno. If you have a syllabear-style thing going (only 1 pet, always active) you can use the alt-control method that shaco clone/tibbers/etc use. Put it on the Q. You can give the champ a glitterlance style skillshot to encourage good pet positioning. Not convinced it should be an AD carry, but I think it could work. Could be someone who starts with 1 point in R and levels it up to 4, the R being the pet. Even with only 1 pet, the current way to control your pet is really awkward. the alt control method is clunky and really not that great imo. Path blocking is also not really possible in LoL because the auto-pathing makes it extremely hard to block anything unless you're a minion.

The one thing I dislike about Thresh is that he kind of discourages roaming, to gain his armor/MR passive thingies. He's basically designed to hang out around another champion at all times and let them kill things, rather than allowing him to go to mid or help jungle stuff. I mean, sure you still can, but it seems bad to miss out on the defensive stats that drop if you can't guarantee a kill at least. You have a point. At first glance I read his passive as "champions and large minions are worth more souls" since I was just glancing over it. The fact that everything has a chance to drop a soul means he's always going to want to be near creeps. (Which means less solo exp for your carry too.) I don't know how they expect him to jungle either, if that's the case. Unless by large and small minions they mean large and small monsters too. Edit: Shen'd so stuck in quote.

Just imagine it sorta like an Orianna ball with a hitbox. Just imagine you are a bear summoner: Q: Is a move and attack command, W: A self heal+ minion, E Some sort of CC or AOE, R is an enrage for both of you.

Not saying much, all of NA is pretty underwhelming right now. And if he's ahead of people like Wings or Westrice, it's not by a whole lot. Hence why I always played my WoW hunters Marksman. Beast Master real boring.

WR has shown over time that he can't play at a high level competitively, and Wings well he was nothing special when he played for TSM.Evo. Just because he's informative on stream and plays well in solo queue doesn't mean he's good enough to be a competitive top player. From my recollection all that happened in his games were that he got camped, cried about it, and then proceeded to be useless as he lost his lane.

He can totally help jungle stuff, all jungle creeps can drop souls if you're nearby. What you can't do is sit in a bush waiting for the opportune moment to gank because your opponents are going to notice the souls that start popping up in their lane.

HSGG and Voyman are currently the top NA top laners, with Dyrus trailing behind them. There isn't that much else. We haven't really seen KiwiKid yet with Dignitas, so I don't know where he would place.

If souls last long enough, it actually encourages roaming because you'll get more souls moving from lane to lane than you would staying in one place. If the souls are really short-lived, then yes, it discourages roaming.

Edit: I don't really watch many streamers at all, I just watch tourneys on the side and some VODs, which is why I rarely join any of these discussions anyway.

Hotshot is also the only NA top laner that actually knows how to play 1v2s, because NA teams don't practice 1v2 nearly as extensively as Asian teams. Certainly not any of the top laners that play primarily solo queue.
