Well, I think they're experimenting. This is the first thing of its kind that they're implementing. They very well may have ideas like permanent ward skins and such in the future.

Yeah, I'd also be totally on board for this if it were permanent (and there were more than just the Halloween options, frankly). For a non-IMMENSE price point, it would be absolutely amusing to have new little wards bouncing around everywhere. I mean, can you imagine some of the amusing "totally not copyrighted" wards you could have? Like something that looks suspiciously like an Aperture Science turret, or a mini TARDiS?
Even more hilarious would be troll wards that looked like Shaco boxes or shrooms, but that would never happen.

Well, sure, but still. I'd gladly lay down RP if they only had two (one for Vision and one for Sight) that were high quality and full year round. Even if it was like, 200-400 RP, if it was permanent I'd probably buy it, and they would make way more money, imo. Or at least have a permanent option for a lot of IP/RP and a temporary option for the lower amounts.

Nah, man. Bruiser Elise unstoppable.
Not like it costs anything for them to implement it (aside from the short time for design, etc.). From a business standpoint, it's a no-brainer. Sure, most people might not buy it, but even if some do, it's revenue. It doesn't hurt anything, and if people want to drop some cash on more cosmetic stuff, then why not?

I was wondering who would get the nuke item. Then I noticed the other stats it gives. Which AD wouldn't get that item? I can see Vayne rushing that, the quick ms burst looks really nice+life gain, and the passive looks freaking ridiculous. I guess it's okay since you're just sitting on cutlass for a while. Still, the item looks pretty freaking strong.

Wat, the AD caster item has no such active:

The item with an active is like a lifestealing MBR and pretty clearly more for ranged AD, and its 50% of ad and 150 damage, which is basically insignificant damage. The point of the skill being almost entirely the 30% speed steal.
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/hB3qY.jpg?1)
Also even if it was a 1.0 ad nuke with 150 base damage that would be completely insignificant amount of damage by the time you get the item, especially compared to DFG. A 1.0 ad scaling ratio is pretty crap without high base damage, its just a single auto.Kha zixes Q has up to 280% AD ratio and 280 base damage on a 3 second CD.
This active is on a 60 second CD, so its damage it basically completely negligible.
Like, Morello just came out and basically said "I hate items that add to burst damage and cause balance issues" and then someone on Riot goes ahead and adds one...

The funny thing is that one of the items they added to TT is a nuke for AD casters which also heals and scales with a 1.0 AD ratio.

You're still paying IP or RP for something that's temporary. Why in the hell would you do that? I mean, I guess if you just so happen to have 25-165 RP sitting around, but even then if you ever plan to purchase more RP in the future, it's better to hold on to it for something more substantial imo.
The IP ones are even sillier to me. A FWOTD amount of IP gets you the Deadfall one, which barely looks different from the regular ward skin. The 800 IP (already a pretty hefty investment) gets you the cooler ghost one, but it's only on Vision Wards, which are really only bought by support or people laning against stealthers like Eve/Rengar/Kha. Even then, you only get like, what, maybe a handful through the entire game, and then stop once someone gets Oracle's? Maybe place one down at Baron for clearing.
I think it's just really pointless to get something temporary that you may not even use more than a couple times, if at all. If you buy the Vision Ward and play mid most of the time, you may never buy one at all if you never play vs Eve or have an enemy jungler with stealth.
It's an interesting experiment, and I'm sure they'll get some sales, but I can't see anyone who still uses IP (not owning all the champs yet or still needs Runes) buying them if they think about it. I was so excited, too :\

I'm just afraid that if no one buys temporary ward skins (because I can't imagine justifying said cost), the conclusion of the experiment will be "People don't want these," rather than "Oh, making this temporary was silly."
