So, anyone else feel as a top laner that the switch from clairvoyance to other spells has made the lane alot more unstable and volatile as now you only know where the jungler is when he's spotted on the map?

the problem i have is that you get punished for playing defensively considering possible gank timings while your opponent can luck his way through the lane when not considering them.

Ali doesn't surprise me but how much shen is banned does. Shaco is apparently only truly hated in NA, ahri is OP in europe and NA has a hatred for TF that I don't see in any other region.

edit:: Well maybe china/korea hate TF more than NA.

I'm more surprised by the fact that they actually ban Jax in EU with some frequency O_o

If you guys haven't checked out all the graphs they do on lolking now I would definitely suggest it, it is a really powerful/interesting tool. Matchup winrates, top picks/bans, highest winrate champs. While some of this data may be tough to interpret, you can even click on a champion then see the top players with this champion then see what masteries/runes they build on them (assuming they label their pages). There is also fun stuff to check out like item frequency in game and what champion uses which item the most. Moonflair spellblade? not too popular.

Yeah so I advocated Sorc boots/Haunting Guise/Abyssal on Ahri a couple days ago and just did the build on Diana... It is really strong. I got zhonyas after those 3 starting with the chain vest so you are tanky + do great damage. Just a really powerful build for early team fights allowing you to get advantages.

We heard you like true damage so we put some MPen with yo Mreduction so you can true damage while you damage.

If you aren't desperate for boots2, haunting guise is cheaper stats than the upgrade to sorc boots and you can pick it up first (particularly useful on manaless champs where you aren't getting Doran's Rings - it's nice to have the extra chunk of health.) Also, is the meme attempt necessary :/

He's a very good filler ban, and some people see him as a threat, because he's hard to shut down and i agree. Not many champions can completely deny him his farm.

Buy more wards and plaster the enemy jungle with them.
All lanes and even your own jungle got "more unstable". The only option is to ward more, as taking CV on 2-3 people at once is entirely out of the question and 1 CV is just useless for jungle tracking.

Apparently people don't buy boots.

There are some definite fallacies in some of the lolking graphs, but I do enjoy browsing through them.

The matchup graph is flawed because it only takes into account the actual turn out of the game. It has no way to accurately evaluate how the lane phase turns out for either side of the matchup.

Also, the top players with champions is completely bogus. It only takes into account win %, with some value on Elo (I believe). Because of this, people with only a few games played but high win % and high elo will be on that list. (Aranium, iG zz1tai, and myself are not on the top players for Viktor, so yeah)

Explain to me how HoG > Philo for supports. Philo gives cost-effective regen stats and builds into an item that's more frequently practically useful. HoG gives cost-inefficient HP and builds into options that are practically awkward for a support.

If I'm in a scenario where I want regen for a long laning phase, I'd finish Philo. If I'm in a scenario where I need survivability/fighting stats, I'd get Ruby+Cloth or Ruby+Null rather than HoG.

Yeah, if you really need to survive a pile of bursty bullshit, Ruby+cloth or null is a much bigger bang out of 800G than a HoG is. "but it gives me GP10" really isn't a good excuse IMO. It's amazing how much earlier you can get an aegis when you don't dick around with building GP10s for the entire first 20 minutes. I only get philo typically now. Maybe I'll get a second if I get a lot more money than I expect early but probably not... rather just have the Aegis faster. Yes, I can still afford plenty of wards with only 1 gold item. Maybe if my jungler is building an early Aegis AND I'm not a frontline support (if I'm frontline in addition to my jungler, like taric/leona/ali or whatever, I'm liking this trend towards 2x aegis on team. It's stacking the aura on the 2 people who care most about it.)

Yes both these points are true, still fun though and I think something can be learned. I hope they change how they do the top players for each champion some mix of games played and win % or elo maybe.

I've ended up going just Phil -> kindlegem instead of screwing around with more gp10s. Lets me go either early Shurererereria or earlier Aegis. Been working quite well for me.

I'm going through the use 21 defensive masteries on every champ phase. Will I ever recover?

Kindle's cool too. I tend to default the aegis, but if my jungler is building it and I'm not frontline, I guess Kindle is the way to go. If we really don't need the shurelia that early, can always build it into a zeke or something I guess?

It depends. I only bother using 21 defensive masteries if I know I've pretty much got counter picked hard.

Philo gives cost-efficient mana regen, but i just personally dislike reverie on supports, as i feel junglers should have 1. And HP > Regen when it comes to laning, because you're not trading like in a solo lane, it's more up-front trades that results in kills which happens in duo lanes (from my experience at least).

Philo doesn't help you in a gank. HoG does. You just won't die in a single CC.
Do not regret. Always forward, never back.
