I assume her W/shield will function like Amumu's E (well, pre buff to the mana cost) - get as many points as you feel comfortable re: clears, then put points in Q as it has a static mana cost, much higher damage, and unlike W, has it's cooldown lowered. You could build absolutely anything and do well, seemingly. Need a lot more IP on the PBE to muck around with AP/spellvamp runes, and I'm keen for Monte (or anyone else with jungle Akali experience) to weigh in if he gets the chance. | ||

They have completely different styles and kits. I mean you wouldn't build the same way on LB as Ryze just because they're both ap casters. | ||

Anything more than this is really becoming niche territory for really specialised builds (e.g. Meowkai). | ||

You'll eventually want a few extra runes to fill certain niches but those are enough that you can play almost any role at level 30. | ||

A "generic" AP mid needs flat mana regen yellows... those who do not run mana need hp/lvl or flat armor yellow. Unless you are against an AP top or against certain supports on the bottom lane, MR/lvl is far stronger. | ||

You might be right, but he is suggesting flat armor yellow for AP mids. You lose out big time if you do not run mana regen yellow. 9 flat mana regen yellow gives 3.7 per 5 seconds. Between the 2nd minute to the 7th minute (when the next blue spawns), you get 111 extra mana. For most APs this allows you to cast 1-2 extra spells. | ||
