Evidence: one game on PBE with my jungle experience. Zekes and Zerks both seem smoother to buy.

Zeeks may be best choice. It fits a bit better I think (CDR, AS, life steal), and then she can build a bit tankier with Mercs or Tabi. She is real good at sticking to a target, so building tankier felt nice so I could just be a pain in the ass to their carry. I liked Abyssal/Zhonya, but obviously that's difficult with jungle farm.
I think she could have merit top lane (or maybe mid as well) instead of solely in the jungle.

I think that will largely depend on how her matchups are in either place. At first glance, top seems weird because her W's mana cost scales pretty aggressively, and she has no other form of sustain, and mid seems weird because trying to insta-clear creep waves with her spells looks like it could be clunky. Can't really decide without playing it out though.

Her jungle looks like is what's going to be strong, just due to her ability to clear fairly quickly due to her passive.

can anyone explain how to counter zyra...
I have tried MS quints and boots 3pots but even if i dodge the SS the plants still do quite a lot of dmg...
Played Kass and I couldn't trade as she was quite tanky. Played Swain and it is quite difficult
Zyra's kit is just perfect and her dps is quite absurd imo. Except her ult which is kinda easy to dodge (at least the knock up portion of it.)

OK I just went back and looked at Twitch's numbers.
Why is nobody playing this guy?

Yeah pretty much. No escape at all. Look at the other AD's with no escape: Ashe, sivir, kog'maw. Ashe is played somewhat, but that's because she makes up for her lack of escapes with insane slows/king and her ult. Sivir on the other hand is rarely played (but I guess spell shield still counts for something). Kog deals more damage with a full build than any other AD in the game, and he also has insane range and a really strong poking ultimate, so it's harder to engage on him if he's using his range properly.
Twitch on the other hand has nothing to make up for it, just pure damage. A good team will zerg you.
I'm not saying he shouldn't be played. I haven't explored it myself, but this is just my theory as to why people don't play him.

I've seen two twitches so far which is really low considering how much damage he does. The moment he hits level 3, walk into bush and stealth, get close > venomcask+exhaust+ignite +autoattacks and then expunge after they get out of range to auto/flash/get under tower. I haven't seen any twitch fail to at least force double summoners if not kill bottom lane. It does stupid amounts of damage especially since every autoattack has a delayed 12 stacking true damage so you're getting ~100 true damage from passive and another hundred from your E.
He suffers from the need to be protected later in the game since his W isn't anywhere near what kog's E does but he still hurts.

As someone who just redownloaded LoL last night after 10+months of just playing dota, What "role" would you guys suggest I attempt to learn first. I don't really have many heroes unlocked, just some fun ones like TF/warwik from when i last played, but the free hero rotation should suffice i believe?
I would usually play jungler in dota but it seems very different in lol. So i didn't want to assume,

I'm not saying he shouldn't be played. I haven't explored it myself, but this is just my theory as to why people don't play him. Except Twitch's ult gives him 90 more rage than Kog-maw's W, for only 1 second less duration. It has a long CD, but neither will come off CD in a relevant amount of time in a teamfight--it just means you can't blow Twitch ult to poke towers.
Remember Twitch's R is no longer limited to a certain number of shots.
Also, having a stealth skill that gives you 20% MS while stealthed as well is very different from "no escape at all", even when detection is in play.

I tried playing Twitch a bit after the rework and he felt pretty good, but his laning is not what I'd write home about. His only way to trade is through auto-attacking, Expunge is pretty strong indeed but only after landing 6 auto-attacks, at which point it does about 150% of Graves' Q damage.
His movement speed bonus is 20%. His attack speed steroid is good (30-70% for 5 seconds) but not remarkable (Graves has 40-80% for 4 seconds, Tristana 30-90% for 7 seconds). Twitch passive is slightly better than Corki's at early levels, but is outscaled eventually.
I'm not sure what to say about an AD carry using his only escape to get into your back line. Just fucking kill him?
His ultimate is very good, but it is basically the only reason to pick him, so it had better be good.

Kog's is his W and Twitch's is his R, which is an important distinction too.

I wouldn't worry about it for now. Just go in whatever lane works, because until you're higher up in levels the meta doesn't really apply. Lots of games with no junglers or weird lane comps. Just dick around with champs and learn what they all do. Once you get a handle on somethings then worry about a focus.

The problem is a good bot lane will A: ward the brush and B: run the hell away when you go invis/out of sight.
He really shouldn't ever get an ambush off, except though mindgames.
