Udyr is pretty great, but whenever I play him I feel like I have the weight of the world on my shoulders. Like, unless I go legendary, and am topping cs by a good margin, I feel like we're not gonna win. Fortunately udyr is beast enough to do that, but I find it to be a lot more stressful than playing alistar or amumu. | ||

It's a low Elo strategy in most cases, but nothing disheartens an enemy team more than a jungler running around forcing them all in turn to die or recall. | ||

I think he's mostly just angry and complaining, but I do agree with him partially. I think giving shields/heals to manaless champs is silly for exactly the reason he states. It's as if Riot simply said, "fuck it, let's guarantee they always win lane." His other section discussing how mana is being trivialized on many champs now w/ base mana costs is interesting. I think Riot simply understands the meta and has no interest in altering it. Champs are released entirely with a role in mind and a kit meant to make them viable in that specific lane. | ||

like, the fact that he's a whining hypocrite doesn't make him less right. that's some ad homimen right there, it's just not relevant. When I was watching his stream he'd talk constantly about balance and often I found him not only wrong but obnoxiously wrong, but I really don't see a flaw in what he's saying here. | ||

glad to see my complaints getting some spotlight actually i read the whole thing. he started off with the right idea (mana champs are at a disadvantage) and made some good points (that there are only 14 non-mana champs but it feels like so many more because they're so popular because of their strength) but missed a ton of other good points in favor of JUST TYPING LIKE THI- oh my god that was annoying! >some points he should have expounded on are that shit like rumble/renekton's skills get BETTER as they spam them (for free), most/all of the manaless champions are extremely mobile, few manaless champions are skillshot based. >he should have used the manaless champions that are OKAY as a measure for what riot could do to improve the ones that are BUSTED. akali, katarina, trynd, mundo, renek are all in a good place for the most part, imo. interestingly enough, those are the ones without free shields... :p | ||

Might not agree with him on everything, but he's pretty much right about mana costs being trivialized across the board. One thing I'd like to see is a possible return of health costs on mana-less champions, particularly when a shield/heal is involved. They kept that gameplay on Mordekaiser, and I don't see why it doesn't apply to other mana-less champions with shields. In particularly, health costs help to keep "free" shields in check by making it more punishing to misuse them--if you shield nothing, you've wasted the health cost. At this point, a lot of mana-less champs have shields that are spammable enough that it's simply not punishing to misuse the shield whenever you want. | ||
