Just try to avoid putting to many games into that drawer, especially as a jungler you can often do a lot of good. Not always, sure. You can give a guy one or two kills, and hope he wins his lane, but what he does with those kills is ultimately his thing. You can shut down the enemy jungler by stealing his stuff, and thus make his ganks less dangerous. You can place wards, and ping if someone comes to gank a lane, or even countergank there if you are near it. This is one of the most important things, many people lack map awareness, and place no wards at all, but react to pings because it makes a sound. So basically, do as much useful stuff as possible, don't forget to farm while doing that, and hopefully your team will not lose all lanes. If you play enough games, statistics will provide bad players equally to both teams, so you just need to try to produce the best result with the players you get, and thus maybe not only win the games where you got better mates, but also those where both sides are equal, and maybe even those where the enemy players are slightly better then yours.

In the case you described, there is probably not a lot you could have done. You got him a kill, and told him that healing might be smart now. Maybe you could have sticked around and/or helped while he pushed his lane to the enemy tower, and hope he will go back after that if he is that stubborn. But this will not happen that often, most people realize that being at 20% hp is probably not good.

Also, very importantly, don't listen to your teammates. A lot of laners will expect you to camp their lane nonstop, and view every second you spend in the jungle actually jungling, or at an other lane as a waste of time and call you horrible for it.
