Not a competitive team, just a single competitive team player who was drunk lol. u know what i meant lol That the players in this game are bad and their excuse is they're in elo hell? I have a theory that the community is in an elo hell of sorts. Everybody thinks everybody else in the community sucks so they are just assholes to other people without realizing they are being dicks at times. So basically the same as every video game community. idk man, people were doing really well as Ori within the first week. Granted it's only been two days for Varus but it's not like people thought she was bad on day one. Irelia is about the only example I can think of where virtually no one played her for so long.
most peoples gut reaction to nautilus was that he was crap, now he is seen as really strong.

His kit is insane, his slow ms, large hitbox and long cds make him a bit more awkward in game but it's the only reason maokai (who's kit is pretty bad, only q and w are really that useful it feels like lots of times but has low cds and a strong overlooked passive and high base stats that make him stronger than you'd think on paper.) is about as good when in theory he should be much worse.
Naut is a lot better in short teamfights than maokai is, but maokai can still initiate but shines in longer fights.

solomid down for anyone else?

Maokai taught me the meta-carrying, which is carrying your carry by making sure he stays alive until all the bad guys are dead, however atrocious he may be. Two minutes long teamfights and you're still standing, making that bruiser fly left and right with your Q all the while patiently waiting for your carry to right-click at him.

So....in LoL, when the other team surrenders, why do the people who win say "gg" first?
This is just be my BW etiquette coming in, but traditionally, it's always been the loser that says "gg" first and then the winner says "gg" in response. I'm not sure what changed that around in League, and I know it's actually not important at all.
It just bugs me a bit. >.>

because the losing team is usually spending that time arguing, insulting and blaming each other to worry about minor things like saying gg

That....actually makes a lot of sense.

What? In BW there is no indicator that the person wants to leave besides the "gg" so the winners "gg" will always be second. The only way it could be first is if the winning player says "gg" before the other person is willing to surrender and that is why it's bm.
When people say "gg" in LoL after the other team surrenders they are saying "good game" after the game is over, it's not really a big deal that they are saying it before the other team says "gg" if they do at all because the game is actually over. The difference is LoL victory is more well defined with it's surrender vote and nexus while in BW rarely does it come down to destroying every building and when it does it's usally a tense base race.

I love those super long super close games where one wrong move can cost the game. So tense, so exciting.
|
True, but it just feels unnatural, if only because you're saying "good game" to the losers who might or might not have felt the game was good (hence the really stubborn ones who go "bg trolls").
|
I stopped saying glhf or gg completely in LoL. Because EVERY time, somebody just HAS to remind you in a very gentle tone that, in fact, it was not good, fun, or even a game at all.
|
I say "gg" when I lose, grinding my teeth and being mad just to be courteous. I almost never rage in-game even though I might be furious on skype. So when I win I'll just go "gg" in the same way - when they say gg or when they surrender.

Maybe for you. But it really isn't. GG is just a virtual handshake you give. It doesn't matter if the game was good or not. If the losing team don't accept that it's not the winning team's fault. As explained above me it is clearly outlined when the game is over in LoL and that's why GG can be said by both teams first/at the same time without being rude.

I don't care if the game was a 1v5 I'll say GG.

This. The reason winning teams say gg is because they feel good about themselves but in my mind it's Bm and I don't offensive gg ever even though streamers like snoopeh do it a lot I'm not sure if they know they're behind rude.

i think any one who takes offense to a simple gg is being oversensitive.
