When I say "post and explain", I'm talking about specific match up, or champion, such as GP.

Voted yes. Because I heard it here and it didn't sound like that big a deal for one rune slot.

We're having this discussion because summarizing the conclusions from old discussions doesn't work. Your average idiot will cycle through the whole discussion again because they think they're stumbled onto something new and exciting but are too lazy to actually check and see that's it's all been done before. It won't matter how many times you tell them, "Yes, we know and you're still wrong", they'll keep going until either they're either banned or the whole discussion runs its course again.
At least, it's not a complete solution. Having a topic for mods to point at before smacking people is always useful, and does reduce the noise somewhat.

i like to use ctrl as a cast modifier, but i cant because i would stop moving constantly. is it a bug? can i report this to riot?
i really want to use my ctrl key for something in LoL, its a button i can access without moving my fingers. ctrl + QWER is for leveling skills, unless you changed that in keybindings. Though I don't use that all the time, I don't think my champ ever stopped movement when I hit ctrl. Might be just you?
no, i changed my bindings, i also tried deleting everything CTRL related.
when i hold down CTRL ingame, i will not get the "movement idications" that you normally get and my char doesnt do anything. i asked in liquidparty chat and others have the same thing, but they dont use CTRL, so it doesnt matter for them.
what i would like to do is use CTRL+key for smartcasting because i can press ctrl with my hand without moving fingers. But its useless if i cant move while doing so.

Discussions obviously reopen after they've been patched. I'll add some kind of relevant disclaimer, no worries. Common sense will always prevail as long as I moderate here. :3 Actually any change can potentially influence the viability of gold/10. Even "metagame" changes. The recent change to gold/XP rewards for killing high level champions is a good example of a change which could potentially influence gold/10 viability as it most likely affects the average game length.
Anyways, if there are banned topics, there also should be a place to look up some of these discussions, say a stickied thread for newbies to the forum.
Here's my "why flat AD" reasoning which I already quoted once. Should be rephrased for a FAQ though, and spiced up with some math.
AD > APen because the damage against champions is pretty much equal, but the damage against minions is significantly better for AD. Now that's fine and all, but I can lasthit without that extra AD, I don't need that AD, RIGHT? No. When your enemy knows exactly when you will go for a lasthit, he can punish you for it. But the more AD you have, the more time you have to get that lasthit in. That means you have a greater chance to take that lasthit while your enemy can't punish because he is out of position or busy lasthitting himself and so on.

I don't because it looks ugly on my runepage. Hope that's a good enough explanation.

Also, GP10 runes vs. Items is a worthy distinction.

no topics? why should we constrict ANY general-league-of-legends-related-discussion on a league of legends general thread?

Why don't we just have a "help I'm new and need an answer to this question that's been asked a million times" thread?

Because there are certain topics that have been beat to death and for everyone who has been around through them they are increasingly frustrating each time.

Because its fucking annoying to have to write the same explanation out every single time someone asks a question that we have already answered once every GD thread.
Or some topics just arent worth the effort it takes to debunk them because only stupid people believe them.

then those people cough you cough should learn to be less frustrated and more patient, imo i too agree that sometimes those topics can be annoying but not to the point where i want to ban discussion on them -____________________- what's next? can't talk about annie/ashe/anivia because they've all been around since the first batch of champs? can't talk about leona/trundle because they've never had any changes? just seems dumb to restrict any league conversation on a league board. and by dumb i mean fascist.

you have to be shitting me right? you THRIVE in repeating yourself on your outlandish theories on everything, ESPECIALLY to someone who hasn't heard it yet and you might persuade them to agree with you
^i say that tongue in cheek, but i also seriously mean it

Hey guys what runes should I use when I'm AD ranged? Flat MR or MR per level blues?
|
I agree with gtrsrs on this one, I mean general discussion is basically for everything that isnt qqing and such. And it seems silly to open an entire new thread just for discussion of gp10 and crap.
MooMoo- I run armor blues and yellows for stronger laning vs other ads

Your being ridiculous.
ELO hell is not worth the discussion. "What is a tank" isnt worth going over because its stupidly subjective.
And for shit were there are very solid answers, why not just LINK to the past discussion so we dont have to do it all over again?

I hope that they make some jungle changes that make it more spell-friendly. Or modify some spellcasters to be improved junglers.
The jungle meta needs to be shaken up. Least interesting part of the pro scene right now IMO.
