My biggest issue with thornmail is that the whole thing just seems a little schizophrenically designed. The passive is clearly strongest in lategame, but in lategame the whole 100 armour on a single slot thing starts seeming less useful with last whispers flying around left right and centre - and you've now got a 2k gold item in a slot with stats to match, when you could have a much more expensive and hence slot effective item in that slot instead.

EDIT: I guess a side problem is that with thornmail working the way it does, it makes it way more powerful against people who build tons of raw damage and no last whisper - i.e. people who don't know what they're doing. It's an order of magnitude stronger vs such players, and as such is gonna seem ridiculous in low elo if it becomes decent in high elo. But maybe Im overthinking it.

edit: did some quick math. Better late game, worse early game. But late game the opponent is more likely to have more lifesteal because they finished their IE/PD. Someone like graves gets really close to the 50% magic damage reduction with just his passive and mr/lvl blues. You also need to consider your own armor, and how much the opponent would be lifestealing from you, which gives you 4 total variables you'd have to graph out.

Most mr for carries is either QSS or Banshee veil, which is 50 mr and 57 mr respectively.

IMO the best change they could make to Thornmail is the same change that was made to Blade Mail in DotA. Remove the passive (which is boring, and realistically is not that practically useful compared to other items that are more practically useful against physical damage dealers like Randuin and FHeart), and make an active that has a higher damage return over a short duration, which makes it situationally useful to take pressure off you in certain situations (e.g. activate for 60% damage reflect for 4 seconds, 1 min CD).

I don't understand why when Riot decided to copy Blade Mail to LoL, they decided to copy the shitty boring version of it that no one ever bought, rather than the remade version that was actually useful.

Did the boring version also not return damage from spells? Thornmail would be considerably better if it wasn't limited to physical damage.

Took them many many months to even do anything to karma, probably the most underplayed champion in the game, and what do they do? Nerf her.

That'd be stupid. The French thread states he got the notes from NA forum (with Xypherous posts on stealth rework), and then a thread pop out on NA re-using the French one? That makes no sense since there should supposedly be a NA thread already.

Edit: reading that "Xypherous post" quoted at the end of the French op, either their translation team is doing a bad job with typos, or this is a fake.

Think it eliminates the times in which you simply jump straight up when you attempt to jump over things at awkward angles and stuff. Those times you'll see dud jumps in which you simply go straight up instead of to a target location.

Yeah the dude is basically saying "with the stealth rework, Oracle is no longer an elixir but a charged item with an active that reveals stealthed stuff on a CV-like radius around you, and a one minute cooldown. It doesn't disappear when out of charges, but you have to go back to fountain to refresh them".

I call bullshit. But frankly, when somebody says "I found this on NA!", links 2 Xypherous monoline posts with no content, 2 dead links (of a fake patch notes thread I believe?) and then someone on NA goes "I found this on French forum!", it's your bad for believing it guys.

He's not an «hyper carry» anymore, but his kit is wonderful late game.
And now he crushes everybody in lane starting from lvl1, since you can't even auto him.
